ABSTRACT: Key pulmonary findings included: 1) Loss or damage to respiratory epithelial basal cells, alveolar epithelial cells, 2) Impaired clot fibrinolysis with increased levels of plasma and lung PAI-1, and 3) modulation of cellular senescence markers.
