ABSTRACT: The goal of the study was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the cellular and metabolic responses to chronic genotoxic stress. We analyzed global changes in the transcriptome of xpf-1 worms in mid-life (day 7 of adulthood), when they start displaying increased stress sensitivity but prior to any evidence of increased mortality. We compared the transcriptome changes with the wildtype N2. Enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes, showed an upregulation of genes particularly involved in metabolism, stress response, signaling, and mRNA functions
