A Gene expression profiling study of ossification of ligamentun flavum

ABSTRACT: To investigate the genes abnormally expressed in TOLF and their related biological processes and metabolic pathways through differential expression analysis and enrichment analysis by high-throughput sequencing of peripheral blood samples from TOLF patients and healthy people using human whole genome expression profile chip technology.To explore the mechanism of osteogenesis in OLF cells at the molecular level, and to provide molecular theoretical basis for the pathogenesis of OLF in clinical practice.

Rapid gene expression changes in peripheral blood lymphocytes upon practice of a comprehensive yoga program

Project description:One of the most common integrative medicine (IM) modalities is yoga and related practices. Previous work has shown that yoga may improve wellness in healthy people and have benefits for patients. However, the mechanisms of how yoga may positively affect the mind-body system are largely unknown. Here we have assessed possible rapid changes in global gene expression profiles in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) in healthy people that practiced either a comprehensive yoga program or a control regimen. The experimental sessions included gentle yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation (Sudarshan Kriya and Related Practices â SK&P) compared with a control regimen of a nature walk and listening to relaxing music. We show that the SK&P program has a rapid and significantly greater effect on gene expression in PBMCs compared with the control regimen. These data suggest that yoga and related practices result in rapid gene expression alterations which may be the basis for longer term cell biological and higher level health effects of these practices. ABRF iPRG 2023 crosslinking study - Mascot COMPLETE results

Project description:The three proteomics research groups, Proteomics (PRG), Proteome Informatics (iPRG) and Proteomics Standards (sPRG), have all held interesting studies over the years. This year (2023) the iPRG group has put together a crosslinking study. The goal is to teach people how to analyze crosslinked samples with existing software and provide them with data sets that they can practice on. It is then hoped that more core labs will offer crosslinking analysis as a service to customers and collaborators. This particular submission provides the Mascot results in COMPLETE dataset format supporting mzIdentML 1.2.0 and it is used as a gold-standard for the new PRIDE Archive resource https://www.ebi.ac.uk/pride/archive/crosslinking.

Differential expression profiles of circRNA in mice with traumatic heterotopic ossification

Project description:To investigate whether circRNAs could participate in the pathological osteogenesis of traumatic heterotopic ossification (HO). RNA sequencing was performed to analyze the circRNA expression profile in mice HO tissues and to investigate the relevant mechanisms. We found that 491 circRNAs were significantly differentially expressed in mouse HO tissues by a fold-change ≥2 and p-value ≤0.05. Among these, 168 circRNAs were upregulated, while 323 were downregulated.

Study on the mechanism of Shcisandrol A in immune function modulation in mice based on the mRNA expression profile chip

Project description:At present, with the accelerating pace of life, increase in work pressure, lack of exercise, irregularity of diet and rest, and problems of environmental pollution, people with immunodeficiency are gradually increasing in the modern population. Some Chinese herbal medicines can improve the immunity of the human body, and have less and mild side or toxic effects, so that the study on this kind of traditional Chinese medicines and its mechanism has become an urgent problem to be solved. In recent years, studies have shown that Shcisandrol A (Sch A) can regulate immune function and inhibit the inflammation of nervous system. In this study, mRNA expression profile chip was used to screen the differentially expressed genes related to the effect of Sch A on immunodepressed mice induced by cyclophosphamide (Cy), and the differentially expressed gene-telated pathways were analyzed by gene ontology function cluster analysis, and finally qPCR was applied to verify the 5 genes that might be related to the regulation of Sch A on the mice’s immune functions, to provide a theoretical basis for screening the drug targets on which Sch A could act to regulate the mice’s immune functions.
