Effect of IP6K2-deletion on mRNA expression in mouse spinal cord and duodenum

ABSTRACT: Inositol pyrophosphates (PP-IPs) regulate diverse physiological processes. Mammalian genome encodes three enzymes (IP6K1-3) synthesizing PP-IP diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (IP7). The objective of this experiment is to elucidate the physiological roles of IP6K2-dependent PP-IPs metabolism in gene expression of central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. Mouse GE 4×44K v2 microarray was employed to comprehensively analyze mRNA expression in spinal cord and duodenum. We observed that mRNAs prominently increased or decreased by IP6K2 deletion were different in each organ, suggesting differential regulatory roles of IP6K2-IP7 axis in these two organs.
