Gene expression changes by Glyceollin I treatment of breast cancer cells

ABSTRACT: We examined how glyceolin I, a phytoalexin from soybeands, affects gene expression in breast cancer cells. mRNA was collected at time points of 0, 6, 12, and 24 hours, and mRNA-seqs were performed.

Project description:Arabidopsis Enhanced Disease Susceptibility 1 (EDS1) and its direct partner Phytoalexin Deficient 4 (PAD4) are required for both basal resistance against virulent pathogens and innate immune responses mediated by all tested TIR (Toll-Interleukin-1 Receptors) type nucleotide-binding/leucine-rich-repeat (NLR) receptors. Using transgenic Arabidopsis plants in Col-0 eds1-2 pad4-1 background conditionally expressing PAD4 and constitutively expressing EDS1 (ED-P4E1), an EDS1/PAD4 immune response can be triggered by estradiol treatment and can induce expression of defense-related genes and lead to enhanced basal resistance. In order to capture primary transcriptional changes in response to EDS1/PAD4, we performed RNA-seq gene expression analysis in ED-P4E1 plants after estradiol or mock treatment at three time points: 6, 12 and 24 h.

Project description:We specifically deleted Baf250a in the SAN by using Hcn4-CreERT2 mice. We performed mRNA-seq to identify dysregulated genes in the SAN after deletion of Baf250a. To identify direct targets of Baf250a and sequential transcriptional events after deletion of Baf250a in the SAN, we performed mRNA-seq at 6 time points. i.e. 0 hr (tamoxifen treatment), 16 hr after tamoxifen treatment, 20 hr, 24 hr, 48 hr, and 6 days after tamoxifen treatment.

Dynamic, mating-induced gene expression changes in female head and brain tissues of Drosophila melanogaster

Project description:Temporal gene expression changes in head tissues from mated females was determined at four time points post-mating, from 0-2 hours out to 72 hours. Each time point assayed post-mating showed a unique post-mating gene expression response, with 48 hours post-mating having the largest number of genes with expression changes. At most time points, a marked change in expression of genes expressed in the head fat body and encode products that function in metabolism was observed. Additionally, gene expression was analyzed at 24 hours post-mating in brain tissues, identifying the repressed expression of several genes encoding ion channels.
