Effects of UBE2S knockout on Huh7 cells

ABSTRACT: As the main type of primary liver cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) seriously endangers human health. UBE2S is upregulated in human HCC tissue and associated with poor prognosis. To explore the biological functions and molecular mechanisms of UBE2S in HCC cells, we explored the effects of UBE2S knockout on Huh7 cells using RNA-seq.

Project description:Cellular senescence is a tumor suppressor mechanism, and immortalization facilitates neoplastic transformation. Both mechanisms may be highly relevant to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development and its molecular heterogeneity. Cellular senescence appears to play a major role in liver diseases. Chronic liver diseases are associated with progressive telomere shortening leading senescence that is observed highly in cirrhosis, but also in some HCC.
