A unique chromatin complex occupies young alpha-satellite arrays of human centromeres


ABSTRACT: Using high-resolution chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) of centromere components and clustering of sequence data we find that specific dimeric alpha-satellite units shared by multiple individuals dominate functional human centromeres.
