The parasite <i>Trypanosoma brucei</i> grows as bloodstream forms in mammals, and as procyclic forms in tsetse flies. Transcription is polycistronic, all mRNAs are <i>trans</i> spliced, and polyadenylation sites are defined by downstream splicing signals.
