Project description:Analysis of expression profile of peripheral blood from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients RNA expression profile of peripheral blood from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients Total RNA was isolated from peripheral blood. 36 patients with unresectable PDAC were recruited. The diagnosis of PDAC was based on clinical evaluation and imaging studies, which were histologically confirmed by surgery or imaging-guided biopsy. 14 gender, age, and habits matched healthy controls were also included. A total of 1000 ng of total RNA was processed using Illumina TotalPrep RNA Amplification Kit. Hybridization of human samples was performed on Illumina Human-HT12 Version 4.
Project description:Transcriptomic profiling of peripheral immune cells can provide a wealth of information. Classical CD14++ CD16- monocytes were isolated from the peripheral blood of healthy volunteers and patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and profiled for differential gene expression using Affymetrix human Genechips 2.1 U133.

Classical CD14++ CD16- monocytes were isolated from the peripheral blood of healthy volunteers and patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and profiled for differential gene expression using Affymetrix human Genechips 2.1 U133. Differentially expressed genes were identified comparing gene expression profiles between healthy and PDAC.
Project description:Chemotherapy and the inflammatory response were associated with persistent depressive symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing radiation. Treatments targeting inflammation before radiation may reduce depression post radiation therapy, especially in patients who have been treated previously with chemotherapy. Total RNA was isolated from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) obtained from the women (n=61) with Stage 0-III breast cancer treated with or without chemotherapy.
Project description:Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) has been of recent interest as an alternative to upfront surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). However, a subset of patients does not respond to NAC and may have been better managed by upfront surgery. Hence, there is an unmet need for accurate biomarkers for predicting NAC response in PDAC. This project aimed to identify upregulated proteins in tumor tissue from poor- and good-NAC responders.
Project description:Aberrant gene expression analysis between peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) samples from healthy individuals and patients with pancreatic carcinoma, gastric carcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were identified using Affymetrix gene arrays. Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) from healthy individuals, patients with pancreatic carcinoma, gastric carcinoma and HCC were isolated and total RNA was extracted for Affymetrix gene microarray analysis.
Project description:Samples of nucleated cells found in peripheral blood from over 300 patients suffering from resectable pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, non-resectable pancreatic cancer, chronic pancreatitis, or none of these.
