Project description:In this study, the viral miRNAs from white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) were characterized in shrimp in vivo. On the basis of our previous study and small RNA sequencing in this study, a total of 89 putative WSSV miRNAs were identified. As revealed by miRNA microarray analysis, the expressions of viral miRNAs were tissue-specific in vivo.

In this study, the viral miRNAs from white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) were characterized in shrimp in vivo. On the basis of our previous study and small RNA sequencing in this study, a total of 89 putative WSSV miRNAs were identified. As revealed by miRNA microarray analysis and Northern blots, the expressions of viral miRNAs were tissue-specific in vivo. Therefore, our study presented the first report on the in vivo molecular events of viral miRNA in the antiviral apoptosis.
Project description:Pistacia chinensis Bunge is known as dioecious, but we have found wild monoecious individuals. In order to screen the candidate genes which may influence the sex expression or floral phenotypic differences of P. chinensis, the inflorescence buds for different sex types associated with the sex differentiation were selected and tested for small RNA sequencing. Sex-specific differentially expressed small RNA were discovered, combined with real-time PCR data, the regulation patterns of various sex types were first revealed. Our study represents the first detailed analysis of small RNA sequencing, providing more clues for understanding the mechanism of sex determination on P. chinensis.

Project description:RNA-Seq of Fenneropenaeus merguiensis upon WSSV infection
Project description:Microarray analysis of the gill tissues of WSSV infected shrimp (P. monodon) at different time intervals 6 hrs, 24 hrs, 48 hrs and moribund stage of post WSSV infection was carried out to identify differentially expressed genes in response to WSSV infection. The shrimps in WSSV challenege experiment were challenged through intra muscular route with known concentration of virus. The important immune genes identified would be further characterized by sequence analysis and gene expression profile would be validated by real time PCR
