Project description:This study aims to compare nutritional outcomes in terms of percentage of weight gain between a new planted-based high-energy ONS and a standard high-energy ONS with animal protein (cow’s mil protein) in patients at malnutrition according to Global Leadership Initiative on Malnutrition (GLIM) criteria.

Project description:Blood flukes of the genus Schistosoma (Platyhelminthes, Trematoda, Digenea) are responsible for the chronic debilitating disease schistosomiasis / bilharzia, widely considered to be second only to malaria as a global health problem and an incalculable drain on the economic development of endemic countries. Since 1994, the World Health Organization has supported a genome initiative for Schistosoma, the Schistosoma Genome Network, aimed at identifying new targets for drug and vaccine development, understanding the molecular basis of parasite metabolism and development and determining biological variation. The study of small-RNAs as key players in the regulation of gene expression differentiation is important to the understanding of the parasites biology. This data is part of a pre-publication release. For information on the proper use of pre-publication data shared by the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (including details of any publication moratoria), please see http://www.sanger.ac.uk/datasharing/
Project description:Background: CD8 cells seem to play an important role in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, relatively little is known about their phenotype and function. Aims: To define the transcriptome of pulmonary CD8 cells in COPD and compare to paired circulating CD8 cells and smoker control pulmonary CD8 cells. COPD was defined according to the Global initiative for chronic Obstructive Lung Disease guidelines. Severity of disease was defined according to the patients lung function. In particular the forced evpiratroy volume in 1 second (FEV1).
Project description:Illumina 1M Omni Quad arrays were used to test mutation calling accuracy of qSNP tool (a mutation caller) Ilumina array genotypes with GenCal (GC score)>0.70 were used in the comparison of genotype calls using next generation sequencing data and qSNP (mutation caller) 2 samples (control cell line and Melanoma cell line). This is the data for a validation step. contributor: Australian Pancreatic Cancer Genome Initiative
