Project description:The nacre color of shells has an effect on the pearl color in Hyriopsis cumingii, and is an important indicator for its value. However, little exosome and micro (mi)RNA information are available on nacre color formation in mussels. In this study, exosomes of mantles were extracted from white and purple mussels. High-throughput Illumina sequencing was performed on the white and purple mussel mantle exosomes.Moreover, miR-223 negatively regulated hcApo, which plays important roles in the absorption and transport of β-carotene in H. cumingii. These results improve our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of nacre color formation in H. cumingii.

In this project, Label-free proteomic analysis was carried out on fetal bovine serum and hyriopsis cumingii serum, and significant different proteins and hyriopsis cumingii specific proteins were analyzed. Most differentially expressed proteins are involved in immune responses, cell differentiation, and calcium ion binding. In addition, HSP, CALR, APOB, C3 and other immune factors were significantly different.

Project description:To elucidate the modulatory participation of miRNAs in mollusk biomineralization, we have employed high-throughput sequencing to identify miRNAs of pearl oyster, Pinctada fucata. Our study focused on the miRNA expression profile of the mantle, an organ responsible for shell formation of the oyster. The pearl oysters were cultured in the tank with the maintaining conditions of temperature 19 ℃, PH 8.1 and salinity 33‰ in recirculating seawater.
