Project description:This data set consists of tissue-specific RNA-seq reads from 14 different tissues from a single female adult olive baboon (Papio anubis): bone marrow, brain cerebellum, brain frontal cortex, brain pituitary, brain temporal lobe, colon, heart, kidney, liver, lymph node, spleen, lung, skeletal muscle and thymus. The data set was generated by the non-human primate reference transcriptome resource (NHPRTR) project (http://nhprtr.org/), and was first made public on 14 Jan 2014.

Project description:Grouper is an important commercial maricultural fish, which suffer viral nervous necrosis (VNN) disease at the larval and juvenile stages, but the changes of transcriptomics and proteomics during viral infection remain unknown. In this study, we applied RNA-seq and label-free mass spectrum for the first time to depict the map of transcriptomics and proteomics in non-infected, susceptible-infected and tolerate-infected grouper in larval stage. Further analyses showed that the transcriptome and proteome change dramatically among 3 distinct groups, indicating that different immune response for infected and perststent grouper in larval stage. These valuable transcriptomics and proteomics datasets enable the investigation of molecular mechanism in nervous necrosis (VNN) virus infection, thus helps the further development of molecular breeding and marine fishery

Project description:This series includes the four major subtypes of pituitary adenomas and normal post-mortem pituitary tissue Data Transformation Using Affymetrix Microarray Suite 5.0 global scaling was applied to the quantification data to adjust the average recorded to a target intensity of 100. Data were then exported into the bioinformatics software GeneSpring 6.0 (Silicon Genetics, Redwood City, CA) for further analysis. Data normalization was performed to scale the data so that the average intensity value on each array was 1 by dividing each expression value by the median of the expression levels on each chip. The individual gene expression levels for each of the 4 pituitary adenoma subtype arrays was divided by the expression level in the normal pituitary array. Thus, the data are presented as relative to the expression in normal pituitary tissue. Filtering was then performed to identify genes over-expressed or under-expressed at least 2.0 fold in tumours compared to normal pituitary. TABLE 1: The genes / ESTs differentially overexpressed >= 2-fold in at least one pituitary adenoma subtype compared to normal pituitary. Negative values represent underexpression. Where genes are represented by more than one probe set, individual probe data sets are given. Project description:We applied Solexa sequencing technology to identify Singapore grouper iridovirus (SGIV) encoded microRNAs during its infection. A small RNA library arising from SGIV infected grouper cells (GP) was constructed and sequenced. We recovered 6,802,977 usable reads, of which 34,400 reads represented the small RNA sequences encoded by SGIV. Among them, 16 novel SGIV encoded miRNAs were identified by a computational pipeline. Generally, these 16 miRNAs are dispersed throughout the SGIV genome, while three of them are located within open reading frame 057L (ORF057L) region. Meanwhile, We identified 138 conserved microRNA genes between grouper fish and zebrafish.

Project description:To explore whether the cognitive effect of xanthohumol on mice is affected by the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonad system, and to fully reveal the potential regulatory mechanism of xanthohumol on mice cognition, we performed RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, and real-time qPCR to distinguish expression differences between xanthohumol and saline treated mice brain cells in both HPG dysfunction/normal conditions.This study provides comprehensive miRNA and mRNA expression profile data of xanthohumol and saline treated mice brain cells in HPG dysfunction and normal conditions, which advances our understanding of the regulation of cognitive impairment mediated by miRNA.
