Project description:In vitro challenge of primary hepatocytes, with the Infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) virus. Cells from were infected at MOI 0.1 with two different isolates of IPNV: V1244 and Vir410/2018. V1244 represents classical IPNV that is affected by the IPN-QTL, while Vir410/2018 is the QTL-insensitive or recent isolate, rIPNV in short.
Project description:Negatives effects induced by exposure to ultra-violet (UV) radiation are well known. Nevertheless the modes of action of UV radiation are not well understood, in particular in soil invertebrates. In the present work, the effects of two UV doses (mimicking worst case scenarios in earth crust) on gene expression profile of Enchytraeus crypticus (Enchytraeidae, Oligochaeta) were investigated using the high-throughput 4 x 44K microarray developed for the species.
Project description:Iron is the fourth most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. However, the poor solubility of iron due to oxidation of ferrous iron to the almost insoluble ferric iron under aerobic conditions constitutes a considerable challenge for living organisms to obtain sufficient amounts of the iron available. In the present study, we set out to characterize the global gene expression of C. glutamicum under iron limitation in comparison to iron-replete conditions.

Project description:DNA was isolated from whole red blood cells from various lines and crosses of broiler chickens. DNA was genotyped using Axiom genome-wide chicken array and cel files were analyzed using Axiom Analysis Suite Software (version 3.0.1) with Gallus gallus 5.0 using the software's Best Practices for agricultural animals. The results were exported (Genotyping_Data-3-21-2018.vcf) for all genotype calls and text file of all SNPs with >= 97% call rate rate was also produced for filtering the VCF file (ALL_SNPSs_with_Call_Rate_97_Plus_3-21-2018).
