Interleukin-10 is a negative regulatory factor of CAWS-vasculitis in CBA/J mice

ABSTRACT: The gene expression difference between CBA/J and DBA/2 mice after the injection of CAWS (Candida albicans water-soluble fraction) was compared using an oligo-DNA microarray. CAWS was injected into CBA/J and DBA/2 mice. 21 days after the injection, RNA was extracted from the splenocytes and measured using the mouse oligo-DNA 10K micoarray.

Candida albicans water-soluble fraction (CAWS), a mannoprotein-beta-glucan complex obtained from the culture supernatant of C. albicans NBRC1385, exhibits vasculitis-inducing activity (CAWS-vasculitis) in mice. The sensitivity to CAWS-vasculitis varies greatly among mouse strains. This study examined the factors contributing to or inhibiting CAWS-vasculitis using CAWS-vasculitis-resistant CBA/J mice and Bruton's tyrosine kinase-deficient CBA/N mice, which is a CAWS-vasculitis-sensitive strain th  ...[more]
