Transcription profiling of human neuroblastoma and Ewing family tumors


ABSTRACT: Comparison of gene expression profiles between neuroblastoma samples and Ewing family tumor samples. RNA from native tumor samples was processed for DNA-microarray analysis using Affymetrix HG-U133A microarrays. Primary image analysis was performed using MAS 5.0 and data were scaled to an target intesity of 500.

Ewing family tumors (EFTs) are small round blue cell tumors that show features of neuroectodermal differentiation. However, the histogenetic origin of EFTs is still a matter of debate. We used high-density DNA microarrays for the identification of EFT-specific gene expression profiles in comparison with normal tissues of diverse origin.
