Synthesis and crystal structure of N-(5-acetyl-4-methyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)benzene-sulfonamide.

ABSTRACT: N-(5-Acetyl-4-methyl-pyrimidin-2-yl)benzene-sulfonamide, C₁₃H₁₃N₃O₃S, was sythesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In the crystal, π-π inter-actions between the phenyl and pyrimidine groups of neighbouring mol-ecules form mol-ecular chains parallel to [010]. Adjacent mol-ecular chains are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the pyrimidine and amine groups of neighbouring mol-ecules, resulting in a three-dimensional network.

Project description:(2-Acetyl-ferrocen-1-yl)boronic acid, [Fe(C5H5)(C7H8BO3)] or 2-C(O)CH3-1-B(OH)2-Fc [Fc = Fe(η5-C5H3)(η5-C5H5)], crystallizes in the centrosymmetric space group P21/n. The boronic acid functionality inter-acts via intra-molecular hydrogen bonds with the acetyl group and with the -B(OH)2 functionality of an adjacent mol-ecule. The resulting centrosymmetric dimer exhibits an anti-positioning of the ferrocenyl moieties towards the central B2O4 plane. Consequently, an (Rp ,Sp )-, i.e. a meso configuration is present for this dimer. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds consolidate the mol-ecular packing.

Project description:2-[(4-Acetyl-phen-yl)carbamo-yl]phenyl acetate, C17H15NO4, has been synthesized and structurally characterized. In the structure, N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions form chains of mol-ecules aligned along the [101] direction. The chains are linked by π-π and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three dimensional network. The compound has been screened for in vitro anti-proliferative activity revealing considerable activity.

Project description:The title compound, C20H37N3O4, also known by the acronym ALLN, is a tripeptidic inhibitor of the proteolytic activity of the proteasomes, enzyme complexes implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases and other disorders, including cancer. The crystal structure of ALLN, solved from synchrotron radiation diffraction data, revealed the mol-ecules in extended conformation of the backbone and engaging all peptide N and O atoms in inter-molecular hydrogen bonds forming an infinite anti-parallel β-sheet.

Project description:The title compound, C21H23NO4S, obtained by alkaline treatment of 1,5-bis-(1-phen-oxy)-3-aza-pentane at moderate heating, is a N-tosyl-ated secondary vinyl-amine. An intra-molecular S=O⋯H-C hydrogen bond generates a 13-membered ring. The benzalacetone moiety adopts a trans conformation with respect to the C=C double bond, which is slightly longer than usual due to the conjugation with a neighbouring acetyl group. Theoretical predictions of potential biological activities were performed, suggesting that the title compound can inhibit gluconate 2-de-hydrogenase (85% probability), as well as to act as a mucomembranous protector (73%).

Synthesis and crystal structure of (E)-1,2-bis-[2-(methyl-sulfan-yl)phen-yl]diazene.

Project description:The title compound, C14H14N2S2, was obtained by transmetallation of 2,2'-bis-(tri-methyl-stann-yl)azo-benzene with methyl lithium, and subsequent quenching with dimethyl di-sulfide. The asymmetric unit comprises two half-mol-ecules, the other halves being completed by inversion symmetry at the midpoint of the azo group. The two mol-ecules show only slight differences with respect to N=N, S-N and aromatic C=C bonds or angles. Hirshfeld surface analysis reveals that except for one weak H⋯S inter-action, inter-molecular inter-actions are dominated by van der Waals forces only.

Crystal structure of 1,1-di-acetyl-ferrocene dihydrazone.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C7H9N2)2], crystallizes with two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the unit cell. These represent the chiral atropoisomers distinguished by the mutual arrangement of the two acet-yl-hydrazone groups with a cis conformation of the C=N bonds. The two cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings are planar and nearly parallel, the tilt between the two rings being 3.16 (16)° [4.40 (18)° for the second independent mol-ecule]. The conformation of the Cp rings is close to eclipsed, the twist angle being 0.1 (2)° [3.3 (2)°]. The two acet-yl-hydrazone substituents are also planar and are inclined at 13.99 (15)/9.17 (16)° [6.83 (17)/14.59 (15)°] relative to the Cp rings. The Fe-C bond lengths range from 2.035 (3) to 2.065 (2) Å, with an average of 2.050 (3) Å [2.036 (3) to 2.069 (2), average 2.046 (3) Å], which agrees well with those reported for most ferrocene derivatives. In the crystal, the mol-ecules form dimers via two strong N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The dimers are linked into a three-dimensional framework by weak N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.
