Efficient repair of oxidized DNA is critical for genome-integrity maintenance. Cockayne syndrome protein B (CSB) is an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler that collaborates with Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase I (PARP1) in the repair of oxidative DNA lesions. How these proteins integrate during DNA repair remains largely unknown.
