Poly[di-aqua-[μ-1,4-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)pip-era-zine][μ-4-(carboxyl-atoeth-yl)benzoato]nickel(II)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Ni(C₁₀H₈O₄)(C₁₆H₂₀N₄)(H₂O)₂]_n, contains Ni^II cations octa-hedrally surrounded within an [O₄N₂] coordination set. The cations are linked by 4-(carb-oxy-eth-yl)benzoate (ceb) and 1,4-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)piperazine (bpmp) ligands into tri-periodic diamondoid (dia) networks. The fivefold inter-penetrated dia networks are held into the crystal structure by means of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between bound water mol-ecules and unligated carboxyl-ate O atoms of the ceb ligands.

Project description:In the title polymer, {[Co(C(14)H(10)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)]·3.5H(2)O}(n), the Co(2+) ion is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 5-[(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amino]-isophthalate anions, two N atoms from a (pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amino group and an O atom from a water mol-ecule, furnishing a distorted CoO(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry. Each anion acts as a μ(3)-bridge, linking cobalt ions into a two-dimensional layer parallel to (100). The asymmetric unit also contains three and a half solvent water mol-ecules, which could not be modeled. Therefore, the diffraction contribution of the solvent water mol-ecules was removed by the subroutine SQUEEZE in PLATON [Spek (2009). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds in which the coordinated water mol-ecule acts as donor and the carboxyl-ate O atoms as acceptors.

Project description:In the title polymeric coordination compound, {[Co(C14H10NO4)2(H2O)2]·2H2O} n , the Co(II) ion resides on an inversion center and exhibits a distorted o-cta-hedral coordination geometry defined by four O atoms from two pairs of equivalent monodentate carboxyl-ate groups from 2-[3-(4-carboxyl-atophen-yl)pyridin-1-ium-1-yl]acetate ligands and by two O atoms from two equivalent coordinating water mol-ecules. The zwitterionic di-carboxyl-ate ligands serve as bridges with two monodentate carboxyl-ate and the metal ions are linked by double bridges, forming polymeric chains running along [01-1]. The chains are further stabilized and associated into layers parallel to (011) through intra- and inter-chain hydrogen bonding and π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-planar and centroid-centroid distances of 3.658 (3) Å and 3.653 (2) Å, respectively].

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(17)H(16)N(3)O(2))], crystallizes with an essentially eclipsed conformation of the cyclo-penta-dienyl (Cp) rings. The unsubstituted ring is disordered over two positions with the major component being present 90 (1)% of the time. The substituted Cp ring, the pyrazole ring and three atoms of the eth-oxy-carbonyl group form a conjugated π-system. These 13 atoms are coplanar within 0.09 Å.

Project description:The reaction of lead(II) nitrate and benzoic acid in aqueous solution yields the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) ion, two benzoate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Pb-O bond distances are in the range 2.494 (4)-2.735 (4) Å. The Pb⋯Pb distance is 4.0683 (4) Å, indicating an insignificant metal-metal inter-action. The Pb(II) atom has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry chelated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb atoms are bridged through a coordinating water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two benzoate ligands, giving an infinite three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involved the coordinating water and carboxyl-ate O atoms enhance the stability of the supra-molecular arrangement.
