Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a heterogeneous group of diseases. Normal cytogenetics (CN) constitutes the single largest group, while trisomy 8 (+8) as a sole abnormality is the most frequent trisomy. How trisomy contributes to tumorigenesis is unknown.
