<h4>Objective</h4>Impairment of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta1 signaling accelerates atherosclerosis in experimental mice. However, it is uncertain whether increased TGF-beta1 expression would retard atherosclerosis. The role of TGF-beta1 in aneurysm formation is also controversial.
