Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(15)H(11)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The dinuclear copper complex is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry, with one O atom of a succinate dianion and three N atoms of a 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a chain parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The Mn(II) ion in the title compound, [Mn(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(15)H(11)N(3))]·2H(2)O, is seven-coordinated in a considerably distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry by three N atoms of the tridentate 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand and four O atoms from two acetate anions which chelate the Mn atom via two O atoms. The lateral pyridine rings are slightly inclined to the central pyridine ring, making dihedral angles of 13.6 (2) and 5.7 (2)°. The complex and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the cation of the title compound, [Ru(C(15)H(10)ClN(3))(2)]Cl(2)·2H(2)O, the metal atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by the N atoms of two tridentate terpyridine ligands. The ligands are approximately planar [maximum deviation = 0.156 (5) Å] and form a dihedral angle of 87.0 (3)°. In the crystal, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Least-squares mean-plane distortions of only 1.72 (2) and 2.91 (2)° of the pyrimidyl rings with respect to the central pyridine are observed for the bis-(pyrimid-yl)pyridine-based tridentate ligand, while the distal pyridyl rings of terpyridine twist by 13.43 (7) and 4.68 (9)° away from the central pyridine ring.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))]·2H(2)O, a novel tricyano-methanide complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two 2,2'-bipyridyl dioxide (dpdo) mol-ecules and two trans tricyano-methanide (tcm) anions. The equatorial plane is formed by the four O atoms of the two chelating dpdo ligands, with one N atom of each of the two tcm ligands occupying an apical position. There is a disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit (occupancy ratio 0.63:0.37). These water mol-ecules result in the formation of O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, building a layer parallel to (100). The layers are linked by C-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(CH(3)CN)(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)][Mn(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(4)·2H(2)O, contains two distinct cationic Mn(II) complexes, four perchlorate anions and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the two complexes, both Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment, but one Mn ion has a cis-N(5)O coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one N atom of a coordinating acetonitrile mol-ecule and one O atom of a water ligand, whereas the other Mn ion has a cis-N(4)O(2) coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two bpym ligands and two O atoms of water ligands. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules, anions and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Three of the four perchlorate anions are disordered over two sets of sites in different ratios.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(11)H(13)N(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of Cu(NO(3))(2) and racemic 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole, the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion centre. The distorted octa-hedral Cu(II) environment contains two planar trans-related N,N-chelating 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole ligands in the equatorial plane and two monodentate nitrate anions, which are in weak inter-action with the Cu atom, in the axial positions. The two benzimidazole ligands have opposite configurations (R/S and S/R) and compound is a meso complex. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds generate an infinite three-dimensional network. One methylene group of the pyrrolidine ring is disordered over two position with a 0.56 (3):0.44 (3) occupancy.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains a dimeric [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) dication with two five-coordinated Cu(II) ions linked by two methacrylate ions in a syn-syn bridging arrangement. The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039 (15), 3.5301 (15), 3.6015 (15), 3.6496 (15) and 3.6858 (15) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)]I·2H(2)O, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex, an I(-) anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. As a result of the different trans effects of the I and O atoms, the Mn-N bond trans to the I atom is slightly longer than the Mn-N bond trans to the O atom. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the two bpym ligands [maximum deviation = 0.088 (4) Å] is 76.48 (6)°. In the crystal, the complex cation, the anion and the solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯I and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

A 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two water-coordinated Cu atoms, each of which is connected to another 4,4'-bipyridine, giving rise to a square-pyramidal coordination geometry for the Cu(II) centers. The dinuclear dications, nitrate anions and uncoord-inated water mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional structure.
