ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(15)H(11)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The dinuclear copper complex is located on a crystallographic inversion centre. The Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry, with one O atom of a succinate dianion and three N atoms of a 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O-H?O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a chain parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains a dimeric [Cu(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) dication with two five-coordinated Cu(II) ions linked by two methacrylate ions in a syn-syn bridging arrangement. The dication possesses pseudo-twofold rotational symmetry. The penta-coordination of each Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, with two N donors from a phenanthroline ligand and two carboxyl-ate O atoms occupying basal sites and the apical position being occupied by a water mol-ecule. In the crystal packing, mol-ecules are linked to form a three-dimensional framework by O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of 3.6039?(15), 3.5301?(15), 3.6015?(15), 3.6496?(15) and 3.6858?(15)?Å].

Project description:In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(10)NO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, each of the two l-valinate anions chelates a Cu(II) center through the amino N and carboxyl-ate O atom, forming a five-membered ring. A 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two water-coordinated Cu atoms, each of which is connected to another 4,4'-bipyridine, giving rise to a square-pyramidal coordination geometry for the Cu(II) centers. The dinuclear dications, nitrate anions and uncoord-inated water mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional structure.

The Cu atom is square-pyramidally coordinated by one atom of the succinato ligand and four N atoms of two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands. The 12 water mol-ecules form a new type of water cluster.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(8)H(6)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)]I·2H(2)O, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex, an I(-) anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. As a result of the different trans effects of the I and O atoms, the Mn-N bond trans to the I atom is slightly longer than the Mn-N bond trans to the O atom. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes of the two bpym ligands [maximum deviation = 0.088?(4)?Å] is 76.48?(6)°. In the crystal, the complex cation, the anion and the solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O, O-H?I and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Each Cu atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment, with one O atom of an adipate dianion and three N atoms from the 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and one chlorine in the apical site. In addition, there is weak Cu-O inter-action opposite of the chlorine with a distance of 2.768?(1)?Å. The adipate ligand adopts a gauche-anti-gauche conformation. The inter-stitial water mol-ecules form hydrogen-bonded tertramers that are connected to the complexes via O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, thus leading to the formation of tightly hydrogen-bonded layers extending perpendicular to the b-axis direction.

Another carboxyl-ate O atom from an adjacent complex is located in the opposite apical direction, with a Cu⋯O distance of 2.706 (3) Å, and is not considered as a bridging atom. Extensive O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(11)H(13)N(3))(2)](NO(3))(2)·2H(2)O, synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of Cu(NO(3))(2) and racemic 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole, the Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion centre. The distorted octa-hedral Cu(II) environment contains two planar trans-related N,N-chelating 2-(pyrrolidin-2-yl)-1H-1,3-benzimidazole ligands in the equatorial plane and two monodentate nitrate anions, which are in weak inter-action with the Cu atom, in the axial positions. The two benzimidazole ligands have opposite configurations (R/S and S/R) and compound is a meso complex. In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds generate an infinite three-dimensional network. One methylene group of the pyrrolidine ring is disordered over two position with a 0.56?(3):0.44?(3) occupancy.

A supra-molecular network is formed via inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. π-π stacking inter-actions between neighboring pyridine rings are also present, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.808 (2) Å.
