Dibromido(di-2-pyridyl disulfide-κN,N')zinc(II).

ABSTRACT: The molecular structure of the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))], contains a seven-membered chelate ring in which the zinc atom is coordinated by two bromide ions and by the two pyridyl N atoms of a single 2,2'-dipyridyldisulfide (dpds) ligand within a slightly distorted tetra-hedron. As is usual for this type of complex, the disulfide group does not participate in zinc coordination. The chelate complexes are connected via weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonding into chains, which extend in the [010] direction.

Project description:The molecule of the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S)], contains a six-membered chelate ring in a boat conformation in which the Zn atom is coordinated by two Br atoms and by the two pyridyl N atoms of a single di-2-pyridyl sulfide (dps) ligand within a slightly distorted tetra-hedron. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 52.7?(1)°. As is usual for this type of complex, the sulfide group does not participate in the zinc coordination.

Project description:The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of a chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two bromide anions. In the crystal, the pyridyl ring coordinated to the Pt atom is inclined slightly to its carrier pyrazine ring [dihedral angle = 14.7?(2)°], whereas the uncoordinated pyridyl ring is inclined considerably to the pyrazine ring [dihedral angle = 51.9?(3)°]. The dihedral angle between the two pyridyl rings is 57.7?(3)°. Two complex mol-ecules are assembled through inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a dimer-type species. Intra-molecular C-H?Br and C-H?N hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The Pd(II) ion in the title complex, [PdBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine (dpp) ligand and two bromide anions. The pyridine rings are considerably inclined to the least-squares plane of the PdBr(2)N(2) unit [maximum deviation = 0.080?(2)?Å], making dihedral angles of 64.9?(1) and 66.4?(1)°. The pyrazine ring is perpendicular to the unit plane, with a dihedral angle of 89.0?(1)°. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are stacked in columns along the a axis and connected by C-H?Br hydrogen bonds, forming a helical chain along the b axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(10)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2), contains one-half of the complex molecule and one NO(3) (-) anion. The Zn(II) ion displays a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry with four N atoms from two chelating 4-amino-3,5-di-2-pyridyl-1,2,4-triazole (2-bpt) lig-ands in the basal plane and one water mol-ecule occupying the apical site. Another water mol-ecule at the opposite of the apical site has a weak inter-action with the Zn(II) ion [Zn-O = 2.852 (5) Å]. The Zn(II) ion and the two water mol-ecules lie on a twofold rotation axis. An extensive system of hydrogen bonds involving the NH(2) groups of the 2-bpt ligands, water mol-ecules and nitrate anions links all residues into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(24)H(16)N(6))], the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by the N,N',N''-tridentate 2,3,5,6-tetra-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two bromide ions, generating a distorted ZnN(3)Br(2) trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the metal ion, with both bromide ions in equatorial sites. The dihedral angles between the pyrazine ring and the coordinated pyridine rings are 13.3?(2) and 24.8?(2)°; those between the pyrazine ring and the uncoordinated pyradine rings are 31.3?(2) and 44.2?(2)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of weak C-H?Br hydrogen bonds occur.

Project description:The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], has a slightly distorted square-planar environment defined by the two pyridyl N atoms of the chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two bromide anions. In the crystal, the pyridyl rings are considerably inclined to the least-squares plane of the PtBr(2)N(2) unit [maximum deviation = 0.064?(2)?Å] with dihedral angles of 65.2?(2) and 66.0?(2)°. The nearly planar pyrazine ring [maximum deviation = 0.020?(5)?Å] is almost perpendicular to the unit plane with a dihedral angle of 89.2?(2)°. Two independent weak inter-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds, both involving the same Br atom as a hydrogen-bond acceptor, give rise to chains running along the a and b axes, forming a layer structure extending parallel to (001). The complexes are stacked in columns along the a axis. When viewed down the b axis, the successive complexes stack in the opposite direction.

Project description:In the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(12)H(9)N(3)O(2))], the Zn(II) ion is bonded to two Br ions and two N atoms of the diimine ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. With the exception of the Br atoms, all other atoms are disordered over two sets of sites corresponding to a 180° rotation of the mol-ecule along [[Formula: see text]02]. The refined occupancies of the components are 0.809 (2) and 0.191 (2). In addition, the crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a refined component ratio of 0.343 (2):0.657 (2).

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(12)H(9)NO)(2)](n), is a polymeric zinc(II) complex with the metal ion located on an inversion centre. The Zn(II) ion is six-coordinated by two N atoms of two 3-benzoyl-pyridine ligands and four N atoms from four dicyanamide ligands, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedral configuration. In the crystal structure, neighboring Zn atoms are linked together by double dicyanamide bridges to form a polymeric zinc(II) complex.

The dpa ligand is not planar, with the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 40.8?(2)°. The complex mol-ecules are stacked in columns along [001] through ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.437?(3) and 3.520?(3)?Å]. Inter-molecular N-H?Br hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into chains running along [010]. Intra-molecular C-H?Br interactions are also observed.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], each of the two five-coordinated Zn(II) atoms displays a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms from the chelate ligand and by one terminal and two bridging chloride anions. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. There is inter-molecular π-π stacking between adjacent phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.151 (3) Å.
