Catena-Poly[[[bis-(4-amino-benzoato-κO)copper(II)]-μ-1,1'-(pentane-1,5-di-yl)diimidazole] trihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Cu(C(7)H(6)NO(2))(2)(C(11)H(16)N(4))]·3H(2)O}(n), each Cu(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms from two 4-amino-benzoate anions, and two N atoms from two different 1,1'-(pentane-1,5-di-yl)diimidazole (biim-5) ligands, to furnish a distorted square-planar geometry. The biim-5 ligand coordinates to two copper(II) cations, acting as a bridging ligand; as a result the copper(II) cations are connected to form an infinite chain structure. The polymeric chains are linked through a variety of hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The complete mol-ecule of the title complex, [Co(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(4)(C(20)H(22)N(4)O)(2)], is a dimer of the paddle-wheel-type generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Co(II) ion is penta-coordinated by three O atoms from two 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anions (one bidentate and one monodentate) and two N atoms from two 2,2'-bis-(2-methyl-1H-benzimidazole)-ether ligands. This results in a very distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry for the metal ion, with both N atoms in equatorial sites. The dihedral angle between the benzimidazole ring systems in the ligand is 60.04 (8)°. The configuration of the mol-ecule is supported by intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {[Nd(2)(CH(2)CHCOO)(6)(H(2)O)(3)]·3H(2)O}(n), was synthesized by hydro-thermal methods. The structure contains one-dimensional coordination polymers in which two distinct Nd(III) atoms show different coordination modes. One is coordinated by four bidentate acrylate ligands, two of which bridge Nd(III) atoms, and by two O atoms from a further two bridging acrylate ligands. The other Nd(III) atom is coordinated by two bidentate acrylate ligands, two O atoms from bridging acrylate ligands, and three water mol-ecules. Extensive hydrogen bonding between the coordinated and uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules and the O atoms of the acrylate ligands link the coordination polymers into a three-dimensional network.

The Zn(II) ions are linked by μ(2)-OH-bdc (OH-H(2)bdc = 5-hy-droxy-isophthalic acid) and bbie ligands [bbie = 2,2'-diethyl-1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)diimidazole], forming a two-dimensional layer parallel to the ab plane. Project description:The title dimeric complex, [Eu(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is centrosymmetric, implying that pairs of equivalent Eu(3+) ions and ligands lie trans to each other and that the two Eu(3+) ions have exactly the same coordination environment. Each Eu(3+) ion is nine-coordinated by two bidentate benzoate ligands, two bridging tridentate chelating benzoate ligands, and one dimethylformamide and one water molecule. The coordination polyhedron of each Eu(3+) ion can be described with a distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. The mol-ecular structure is stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and benzoate O atoms.
