Poly[[μ(2)-2,2'-diethyl-1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)diimidazole-κN:N](μ(2)-5-hydroxy-isophthalato-κO:O)zinc].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Zn(C(8)H(4)O(5))(C(14)H(22)N(4))](n), the Zn(II) cation is coordinated by an O(2)N(2) donor set in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The Zn(II) ions are linked by μ(2)-OH-bdc (OH-H(2)bdc = 5-hy-droxy-isophthalic acid) and bbie ligands [bbie = 2,2'-diethyl-1,1'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)diimidazole], forming a two-dimensional layer parallel to the ab plane. The layers are further connected through intermolecular C-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. In the bbie ligand, the two C atoms in the ethyl group are each disordered over two positions with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.69:0.31.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Co(C(10)H(14)N(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]Cl(2)·4H(2)O}(n), the Co(II) atom and the mid-point of the 1,1'-butane-1,4-diyl-diimidazole ligands lie on inversion centers. The Co(II) atom is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment by four N atoms from four different ligands and by two O atoms from the water mol-ecules. The Co(II) atoms are bridged by the ligands into a (4,4) net. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), there are two symmetry-independent one-dimensional coordination polymers related by a non-crystallographic inversion center. Within the polymers, the Cu(II )atoms, coordinated by the water mol-ecule and the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands, are bridged by 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions which act as tridentate ligands; the carboxyl-ate groups exhibit monodentate and symmetric bidentate coordination modes. The Cu(II) atoms show a strongly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the two symmetry-independent coordination polymers form another one-dimensional polymeric structure via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(2)(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)]·2H(2)O, was synthesized by the reaction between manganese(II) benzoate and the Schiff base generated in situ by the condensation of ethane-1,2-diamine and o-hydroxy-aceto-phen-one. The Jahn-Teller-distorted manganese(III) ions of the centrosymmetric dimer are connected through phen-oxy bridges. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the uncoord-in-ated C=O of the benzoate and uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the dimers into a chain running parallel to the c axis.

The structure contains isolated neutral complexes, in contrast to coordination polymers formed by Mn(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) with the same ligand set. An extensive network of hydrogen bonds is formed between the water mol-ecules and the carboxyl-ate groups.

Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), square-pyramidally coordinated Cu(II) ions are linked into [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)](n) coordination polymer chains by isophthalate dianions. These chains are connected into undulating [Cu(H(2)O)(isophthalate)(3-bpmp)](n) [3-bmp is bis-(3-pyridylmeth-yl)piperazine] layers by 3-bpmp tethering ligands. The pseudo three-dimensional structure of the title compound is fostered by inter-layer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and unligated isophthalate O atoms. The selected crystal was non-merohedrally twinned. Only reflections from the major twin component were used in the solution and refinement.
