ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(4)H(2)BrO(4))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)], the central Cu(II) atom lies on an inversion center and is six-coordinated in an octahedral geometry by four N atoms from two chelating biimidazole mol-ecules in the equatorial plane and two O atoms from two 2-bromo-fumarate ligands in the axial positions. O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title mononuclear Cu(II) complex, [Cu(C(7)H(4)BrO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], contains one half-mol-ecule, the Cu(II) atom being located on an inversion center. The unit cell contains two nicotinamide (NA), two 4-bromo-benzoate (PBB) ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Cu(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the adjacent benzene ring is 22.17 (16)°, while the pyridine ring and the benzene ring are oriented at a dihedral angle of 82.80 (6)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. A weak C-H⋯π inter-action is also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the five-coordinated Cu(II) atom has a distorted square-pyramidal CuN(4)O environment; the O atom is in the axial position whereas the N atoms from two bipyridine (bipy) ligands are in the equatorial plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are assembled by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and π-π inter-actions between bipy groups [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7686 (16) and 3.7002 (16) Å] into a three-dimensional network. The nitrite anion is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:The central CuN(2)O(4) motif of the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], exhibits a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral geometry around the metal atom, showing a considerably long Cu-O bond distance of 2.5058 (12) Å towards the second perchlorate group, giving a (4 + 1+1)-type coordination mode. In the crystal, the components are linked via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (001). Additional stabilization within these layers is provided by π-π [centroid-centroid distances of 3.7848 (9)-4.4231 (9) Å] stacking inter-actions.

Project description:The title Cu(II) complex, [Cu(C(7)H(4)BrO(2))(2)(C(10)H(14)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], contains two 4-bromo-benzoate (PBB), two diethyl-nicotinamide (DENA) monodentate ligands and two water mol-ecules. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Cu(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by two N atoms of the DENA ligands in the axial positions. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate groups. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 3.1 (3) and 3.74 (17)°, while the pyridine rings and the benzene rings are oriented at dihedral angles of 6.81 (10) and 3.38 (12)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into double chains along the b axis. C-H⋯O inter-actions are also observed. π-π contacts between pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.485 (2) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry by two O atoms of two benzoate anions and two N atoms of a 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand occupying the basal plane, and a water O atom located at the apical site. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular structure. The crystal studied was a racemic twin, as suggested by the Flack parameter of 0.584 (14).

The apical site is occupied by one of the carboxyl-ate O atoms. The water mol-ecule forms intra-molecular hydrogen bonds to the uncoordinated carboxyl O atoms. The crystal studied was a nonmerohedral twin with minor components in 0.381 (3) and 0.108 (2) proportions.

The Cu atom lies on a center of inversion. N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds give rise to a one-dimensional structure. The BF(4) (-) anion is disordered over two sites in a 0.671 (10):0.329 (10) ratio.
