ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(31)H(25)NO, the oxazine ring adopts a half-chair conformation. The dihedral angles between the phenyl rings and the naphthyl ring system are 70.89?(8), 37.34?(10) and 9.42?(10)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by an aromatic ?-? stacking inter-action, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.879?(3)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(24)H(18)BrNO, consists of an envelope-configured oxazine ring with a fused 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl group and two bonded phenyl rings. The dihedral angles between the mean planes of the 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl and the phenyl rings are 54.5?(6) and 87.4?(8)°, respectively. The oxazine is essentially coplanar with the 8-bromo-1,3-diphenyl [dihedral angle = 9.4?(1)°]. Weak C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(22)H(17)N(3)O, the oxazine ring has a half-chair conformation. The dihedral angles between the best least-squares plane through the pyridine rings and the planar part (O-C-C-C-N) of the oxazine ring are 72.14?(6) and 35.44?(7)°, the smaller angle involving the pyridine ring adjacent to the oxazine O atom. The mol-ecule has two stereogenic centers at the oxazine carbons, RS and SR. The crystal packing reveals that symmetry-related mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds to form chains parallel to the b axis.

The nitro-phenyl ring and the naphthalene ring system enclose a dihedral angle of 89.2?(1)°. An intra-molecular hydrogen bond is formed between the NH group and one of the adjacent carbonyl O atoms. In addition, the NH group forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to a symmetry equivalent of this carbonyl O atom, connecting the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The structure also contains C-H?O inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(16)H(15)NO, the two aromatic rings are approximately perpendicular; the carbonyl group is twisted out of the adjacent benzene ring by 14.8 (2)°. In the heterocyclic ring, the C atom linked to the carbonyl group and the C atom linked to the N atom have opposite deviations of 0.467 (5) and 0.184 (4) Å, respectively, from the plane of the benzene ring. The N atom lies approximately in the plane of the phenyl ring. There are no conventional hydrogen bonds; the packing of mol-ecules in the crystal structure is stabilized by van der Waals forces.
