ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(9)H(10)N(3)S(+)·I(-), the indole ring system and the thiouronium group are essentially perpendicular, with a dihedral angle of 89.87?(8)°. By inter-molecular hydrogen bonding, a three-dimensional network is formed, which is additionally supported by inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C20H19N2S+·I-, prepared by the reaction of 1,3-di-phenyl-thio-urea and benzyl iodide, the C-S-C thio-ether bond angle is 101.66 (9)° and electrons are delocalized over the N+= C-N skeleton. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings attached to the N atoms is 40.60 (9)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds link the components into [100] chains.

Project description:In the title compound, C(8)H(11)N(2)S(+)·C(6)H(4)NO(5)S(-), the asymmetric unit is composed of two crystallographically independent S-benzyl-thio-uronium cations and two independent nitro-benzene-sulfonate anions. An intra-molecular hydrogen bond generates an S(5)S(5) ring motif. The crystal packing is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H?O and inter-molecular C-H?O, N-H?O and N-H?S hydrogen bonds which, along with short S?O [3.034?(2)?Å] and N?O [2.796?(3)?Å] contacts, form a two-dimensional network parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:The title salt, C6H7N2S(+)·I(-), crystallizes with two independent cations and two anions in the asymmetric unit. In one of the cations, the dihedral angle between the pyridinium ring and the thioamide group is 28.9 (2)°; in the other it is 33.5 (2)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯S and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the independent cations into pairs. These pairs form a three-dimensional network through additional N-H⋯I and C-H⋯I hydrogen bonds to the anions.

Project description:Herein we report the crystal structure of 2-[(naphthalen-2-yl)meth-yl]iso-thio-uronium bromide, C12H13N2S+·Br-, which crystallizes in the monoclinic P21/c centrosymmetric space group. The asymmetric unit contains one 2-[(naphthalen-2-yl)meth-yl]iso-thio-uronium cation and one bromide anion. The methyl-ene carbon lies in plane of the naphthalene core. In comparison with reference structures, elongation of C-S bonds as well as tilting of the iso-thio-uronium group is observed. Given the ionic nature of the compound, the structure is held by charge-assisted N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, with a noteworthy contribution of dipole-dipole inter-actions, which form bilayers in the structure. The bilayers are held by the weak London forces.

Project description:The title complex, {[Cu(CH(4)N(2)S)(3)]I·0.5CH(3)CN}(n), was formed by the reaction of CuI and thio-urea in acetonitrile. There are two independent Cu(I) ions in the asymmetric unit which are coordinated by two terminal and two bridging thio-urea ligands to form a one-dimensional helical chain structure progagating in the a-axis direction. Each Cu(I) ion is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak N-H⋯S and N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds.
