ABSTRACT: In the title salt, [CrCl(2)(C(5)H(14)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Cr atom is in a trans-CrCl(2)N(4) octa-hedral environment comprising the four N atoms of two chelating 2,2-dimethyl-propane-1,3-diamine ligands and two Cl atoms. The two six-membered CrC(3)N(2) rings in the cation adopt anti chair-chair conformations with respect to each other. The perchlorate anion is disordered over two positions in respect of the Cl and an O atom in a 6:4 ratio. N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a layer structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [CrCl(2)(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Cr(III) atom is coordinated equatorially by four N atoms of two propane-1,3-diamine (tn) ligands and axially by two mutually trans Cl atoms, thus displaying a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry with no crystallographically imposed symmetry. The two six-membered chair chelate rings in the complex cation are in an anti conformation with respect to each other. The Cr-N bond lengths range from 2.0831 (18) to 2.0917 (19) Å, and the Cr-Cl bond lengths are 2.3148 (6) and 2.3135 (6) Å. The perchlorate anions have slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometries. Weak inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the tn ligand NH groups as donors, and chloride ligands and anion O atoms as acceptors are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [CrCl(2)(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)](2)[ZnCl(4)], the Cr(III) atom is coordinated by four N atoms of propane-1,3-diamine (tn) and two Cl atoms in a trans arrangement, displaying a distorted octa-hedral geometry with crystallographic inversion symmetry; the Zn atom in the [ZnCl(4)](2-) anion lies on a -4 axis. The orientations of the two six-membered chelate rings in the complex cation are in an anti chair-chair conformation with respect to each other. The Cr-N bond lengths are 2.087?(6) and 2.097?(6)?Å. The Cr-Cl and Zn-Cl bond lengths are 2.3151?(16) and 2.3255?(13)?Å, respectively. Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(19)H(20)Br(2)N(2), is a potential bidentate Schiff base ligand. The two benzene rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 30.85 (8)°. An inter-esting feature of the crystal structure is a weak inter-molecular Br⋯Br [3.4752 (4) Å] inter-action which is shorter than the sum of the van der Waals radii of the Br atoms and links neighbouring mol-ecules into chains along the c axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The monomeric title zirconium(IV) compound, [Zr(C(12)H(21)N(2)Si)(2)Cl(2)], was prepared by the metathetical reaction of [LiN(SiMe(2)NMe(2))(2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3))](2) with zirconium tetra-chloride. The Zr(IV) atom is N,N'-chelated by the N-silylated anilido ligand. Along with two Cl atoms, the six-coordinated Zr(IV) atom demonstrates a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The two ligands around the Zr(IV) atom are arranged cis to each other and obey the C(2) symmetry operation. That means the asymmetric unit consists of only half of the mol-ecular compound and the complete mol-ecule is generated by a twofold axis. The two ends of the N-Si-N chelating unit exhibit different affinities for the metal center. The Zr-N(amino) bond is longer than the Zr-N(anilido) bond.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.
