Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(8)H(14)N(2) (2+)·2Cl(-), contains one and a half of the dications and three chloride anions. The half molecule is completed by crystallographic twofold symmetry with two C atoms lying on the rotation axis. The two ammonium groups in each cation adopt a trans conformation with respect ot the benzene ring. The ammonium groups and chloride anions are involved in the formation of a three-dimensional N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding network, which stabilizes the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(14)N(2) (2+)·C(12)H(8)N(2)O(8)P(-)·ClO(4) (-), was formed by the reaction of α,α-bis-m-xylenediamine and sodium bis-p-nitro-phenyl-phosphate in the presence of Zn(ClO(4))·6H(2)O in methanol solution. The two amine groups of the m-xylenediammonium ion are each protonated and each hydrogen-bonded to two O atoms of the phosphate anion, which acts as a 1,3-bridge. The ammonium groups are arranged matched face to face and each pair is doubly bridged by two perchlorate ions through hydrogen bonding. In addition, there are also weak C-H⋯O inter-actions. Both the N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O inter-actions are contained in a channel down the a axis. The perchlorate oxygen atoms are disordered over two positions with site occupancy factors of ca 0.7 and 0.3.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, C(44)H(38)P(2) (2+)2BF(4) (-), consists of discrete dications inter-laced with the BF(4) (-) counter-ions. In each cation, both phospho-nium groups lie on the same side of the plane of the central benzene ring. The tetra-fluoro-borate anions are involved in intensive thermal motion, thus some B-F bond lengths [range 1.329 (6) to 1.391 (6) Å] deviate significantly from their standard values.

The anions are inter-connected through strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network with channels along [100], [010], [001] and [111]. The diprotonated cations reside in the channels and inter-act with the inorganic framework by extensive N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title salt, C(18)H(18)N(2) (2+)·2PF(6) (-), exists as non-inter-acting cations and anions. In the cation, the pyridine and phenyl-ene rings are aligned at 62.9 (1)°; the pyridine ring lies on a special position of m site symmetry and the phenyl-ene ring on a special position of 2/m site symmetry. The angle at the methyl-ene C atom is 112.8 (1)°. The anion lies on a special position of m site symmetry; four F atoms lie on this mirror plane.
