8-Iodo-quinolinium triiodide tetra-hydro-furan solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(9)H(7)IN(+)·I(3) (-)·C(4)H(8)O, was synthesized from 8-amino-quinoline using the Sandmeyer reaction. The 8-iodo-quinolinium cation is essentially planar and the triiodide ion is almost linear. N-H?O hydrogen bonds, and inter-molecular I?I [3.7100?(5)?Å] and I?H inter-actions, between the cation, anion and solvent mol-ecules result in the formation of sheets oriented parallel to the (03) plane. Between the sheets, 8-iodo-quinolinium and triiodide ions are stacked alternately, with I?C distances in the range ?3.8-4.0?Å.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title ionic compound (C(7)H(6)NS)[AuCl(4)]·C(4)H(8)O, the [AuCl(4)](-) anion shows a typical square-planar geometry. Numerous weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between [AuCl(4)](-) and the 1,3-benzothia-zolium units form layers comprised of 24-membered rings in which hydrogen-bonded tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecules are accommodated. C-H?Cl inter-actions between THF and [AuCl(4)](-) from adjacent layers result in bilayers. These are further stabilized by ?-? inter-actions between the thia-zole and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.971?(3)?Å], resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly.

Three dinucleating O,N:N',O'-donor ligands provide three diazine (=N-N=) bridges between the metal ions, yielding a binuclear triple helicate structure with crystallographic C(2) symmetry, the rotation axis bis-ecting one N-N bond.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)][Ni(CN)(4)]·C(4)H(8)O·H(2)O, consists of a cationic [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) unit, an anionic [Ni(CN)(4)](2-) unit, one uncoordinated water and one tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule. In the cationic unit, the Ni(2+) atom is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. In the anionic unit, the Ni(2+) atom is in a square-planar coordination by four C atoms from four monodentate terminal cyanide ligands. O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link neighboring cationic and anionic units, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The inter-stitial tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule is independently disordered over two sites in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of title compound, C(28)H(38)O(18)S(2)·C(4)H(8)O, comprises one disulfide-bridged sugar molecule and one solvent molecule. No significant differences in structural parameters are found between the present structure and the previously determined unsolvated form [Brito, López-Rodríguez, Bényei & Szilagyi (2006 ▶). Carbohydr. Res.341, 2967-2972]. The compounds are characterized by a compact structure with spatial proximity of the two pyranosyl rings. One of the carbonyl atoms is disordered over two sites [site occupancy = 0.69 (7) for major component] and the displacement parameters for the THF species are unsually large.

Project description:In the title binuclear silver(I) complex, [Ag(2)Br(2)(C(18)H(15)P)(3)]·0.85C(4)H(8)O, the two independent silver(I) ions are briged by two bromide ions. One Ag(I) ion is coordinated by two triphenyl-phosphine groups with a square-planar geometry, while the second is coordinated by one triphenyl-phine group with a trigonal-planar geometry. The structure is very similar to that of the dichloro-methane solvate reported by Zhu, Huang & Zheng [Chin. J. Struct. Chem. (1994), 13, 325-327]. The tetrahydrofuran solvent molecule is disordered and was refined with a fixed occupancy of 0.85.

Project description:The title compound, C20H21IO, was synthesized by cyclo-haloetherification of 2-(cyclo-hex-2-en-yl)-2,2-diphenyl-ethanol in CH2Cl2, and crystallized with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The six-membered cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation, while the five-membered ring adopts an envelope conformation with the fused C atom opposite the O atom as the flap in each case [displacements of the flap atoms = 0.6813 (3) and 0.6679 (3) Å]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming inversion dimers.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(4)(C(2)F(3)O(2))(3)(C(4)H(10)NO)(3)Cl(OH)]·C(4)H(8)O or [Cu(4)(TFA)(3)(dmae)(3)Cl(OH)]·THF (dmae is dimeth-yl-amino-ethano-late, TFA is trifluoro-acetate and THF is tetra-hydro-furan), has an approximate mol-ecular threefold symmetry with three equivalent {Cu(dmae)(TFA)} units bridging between a Cu-Cl and a hydroxide unit, with the latter two lying on the mol-ecular threefold axis. However, in the solid state, the tetranuclear complex has C(i) symmetry. The Cu atom bonded to the Cl atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The other three Cu atoms have distorted square-pyramidal geometries with an NO(4) coordination environment. The bonds within the CuNO(3) base of the pyramid range from 1.953?(2) to 2.033?(3)?Å, while the apical Cu-O bonds are significantly longer, ranging from 2.286?(2) to 2.377?(2)?Å. The square-pyramidal geometries are augmented by weak inter-actions towards a sixth O atom, forming a highly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment [long Cu-O distances = 2.712?(2)-2.824?(2)?Å]. The hydroxide group is hydrogen bonded to the tetra-hydro-furan solvent mol-ecule. One of the -CF(3) groups shows minor disorder over two positions, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.894?(4):0.106?(5).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(12)H(16)N(3)O)]·0.5C(4)H(8)O, consists of one palladium complex in a general position and one half tetra-hydro-furan (THF) solvent mol-ecule, with the O atom lying on a twofold rotation axis. The Pd(II) atom is bound to one chelating imino nitroxide radical through two N atoms, one from the pyridyl ring and the other from the imidazoline ring. The coordination of the metal centre is completed by two Cl atoms in a cis configuration, leading to a quasi-square-planar coordination of the metal centre. The four atoms that define the Pd(II) coordination environment and the eight atoms that belong to the pyridylimine fragment are coplanar, with no deviation larger than 0.087?(5)?Å. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular inter-actions shorter than the corresponding van der Waals radii sum are observed only between Pd(II) complexes, and no short contact is observed around the THF mol-ecule. Weak C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions yield a two-dimensional network of complexes in the (101) plane.
