Project description:In the crystal structure of the title coordination polymer/co-crystal, {[ZnCl(2)(C(18)H(18)N(4))]·C(18)H(18)N(4)}(n), the tetrahedrally coordinated Zn(II) ions are linked by the N-heterocycle into a linear chain. Another N-heterocycle present is not coordinated to the metal atom but inter-acts with the chain through N-H?N and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The butyl chain of the uncoordinated ligand is disordered over three positions in a 0.511?(4):0.289?(5):0.200?(5) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(10)H(14)N(4))(2)](n), consists of one Ni(2+) ion which is located on an inversion center, one 1,4-bis-(imidazol-1-yl)butane (bimb) and one chloride ion. The Ni(2+) ion exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment defined by four N atoms from four bimb ligands in the equatorial plane and two chloride ions in axial positions. The bridging coordination mode of the bimb ligands leads to the formation of inter-penetrating square Ni(4)(bimb)(4) units that are arranged parallel to (001). The separation between the Ni atoms in these units is 13.740?(3)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, bis-[2,2'-dimethyl-3,3'-(butane-1,4-di-yl)diimidazol-1-ium] β-octa-molybdate(VI), (C(12)H(20)N(4))(2)[Mo(8)O(26)], was produced by hydro-thermal reaction of an acidified aqueous solution of Na(2)MoO(4) and 1,4-bis-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)butane (hereafter L). The structure of the title compound consists of the β-octa-molybdate anions having a center of symmetry, and protonated [H(2)L](2+) cations, which link the β-octa-molybdate anions, generating a supra-molecular chain via hydrogen bonds.

The dimeric cyclic mol-ecule is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry. The Cd(2+) cation is coordinated by two N atoms from two SCN(-) anions and four N atoms from two symmetry-related L ligands, exhibiting a distorted octrahedral coordination. A two-dimensional supra-molecular network stacked parallel to [210] is finally formed by linking these dimers through weak π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings and benzene rings of adjacent dimers, with a plane-to-plane distance of 3.36 (6) Å and a centroid-centroid distance of 3.67 (2) Å. One of the thio-cyanate S atoms is equally disordered over two positions.

The mol-ecule lies on an inversion center located at the mid-point of the butyl chain. In the crystal, there is a ?-? stacking inter-action between inversion-related pyrimidine rings with mean inter-planar spacing of 3.494?(2)?Å.
