ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(pht)(2)(pn)(2)] (pht is 5,5-diphenyl-hydantoinate and pn is propane-1,2-diamine) or [Ni(C(15)H(11)N(2)O(2))(2)(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)], contains one-half [Ni(pht)(2)(pn)(2)] mol-ecule. The Ni(II) atom is situated on a crystallographic center of inversion and shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. A three-dimensional network structure is assembled by inter- and intra-molecular N-H⋯O=C inter-actions.

The Co(II) atom displays a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the phenytoin anion, the two phenyl rings form dihedral angles of 62.26 (8) and 57.47 (9)° with the central imidazole ring. Intra-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(3)H(10)N(2))(3)][Ni(CN)(4)], is built up of [Ni(pn)(3)](2+) cations (pn is 1,2-diamino-propane) and [Ni(CN)(4)](2-) anions. Both Ni(II) atoms in the cation and the anion lie on a mirror plane. The respective ions inter-act through Coulombic forces and through a complex network of hydrogen bonds. Extended disorder associated with the cation has been resolved. The occupancies of the respective disordered positions are 0.4:0.4:0.2.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(3)H(10)N(2))(3)][Pt(CN)(4)], the [Pt(CN)(4)](2-) anion with the environment of the Pt(II) atom, lying on a mirror plane, is square planar, whereas the Ni(II) atom in the [Ni(C(3)N(2)H(10))(3)](2+) cation, also lying on a mirror plane, has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Three chiral 1,2-diamino-propane mol-ecules, which are disordered equally over two sets of positions, adopt Δ(δδδ) and Δ(λλλ) configurations. The average Ni-N and Pt-C bond lengths are 2.131 (10) and 1.988 (10) Å, respectively. The cations and anions are connected by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(17)H(20)N(4))], the Ni(2+) ion (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by the N,N,N,N-tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and two thio-cyanate ligands, forming a distorted NiN(6) octa-hedral geometry, with the thio-cyanate N atoms in a trans orientation. The pendant methyl group of the central propane-1,2-diamine fragment of the ligand is statistically disordered over two sets of positions. In the crystal, weak aromatic π-π stacking between pyridine rings [centroid-centroid separation = 3.7081 (17) Å] may help to establish the packing.

Project description:The ionic Ni(II) title complex, [Ni(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)][Ni(SO(4))(2)(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)], is built up of [Ni(dipr)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) complex cations and [Ni(dipr)(2)(SO(4))(2)](2-) complex anions (dipr is propane-1,3-diamine). Both Ni(II) atoms display a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination and are located on inversion centers. There are several types of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, which connect complex cations and anions into a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). Hydrogen bonds formed by the axially coordinated water mol-ecule of the complex cation and one of the O atoms of the sulfate groups of the complex anion (first type) link them into chains along the c axis. These chains are linked to each other through hydrogen bonds formed by an O atom (second type) of the SO(4) groups and NH(2) groups of the ligand of the complex cations from neighboring chains, forming a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded net perpendicular to the b axis. The third type of O atoms of the sulfate groups of the complex anion are also linked into chains by a combination of both previously described types of H-atom connections.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(2)Cl(4)(C(17)H(22)N(2))(2)], the Cu(II) cation is coordinated by a N,N'-dibenzyl-propane-1,2-diamine ligand and two Cl(-) anions, and a Cl(-) anion from an adjacent mol-ecule further bridges to the Cu(II) cation in the apical position, with a longer Cu-Cl distance of 2.9858 (18) Å, forming a centrosymmetric dimeric complex in which each Cu(II) cation is in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

The six-membered chelate ring adopts a chair conformation. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the cation and anion through the water mol-ecule, while N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the cation and anion and cation and water mol-ecules. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network structure.

Two of the en ligands surrrounding the Ni(2+) ion have disordered C atoms, while the third exhibits extensive weak N-H⋯I inter-actions with the two iodide ions that extend throughout the crystalline lattice, producing an infinite network along (011).
