Nitrato[N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(1H-benzimid-azol-2-ylmeth-yl)ethane-1,2-diamine]-calcium(II) nitrate methanol trisolvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ca(NO(3))(C(34)H(32)N(10))]NO(3)·3CH(4)O, the Ca(II) ion is coordinated by six N atoms of the EDTB ligand {EDTB is N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis[(2-benzimidazol-yl)meth-yl]-1,2-ethanediamine} and two O atoms from the nitrate ligand, to form a distorted dodeca-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯O, N-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the constituent units into a three-dimensional network. The uncoordinated nitrate anion is disordered over two sites, with fixed occupancies of 0.77 and 0.23.

Project description:In the title salt, [Zn(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(5)](ClO(4))(4), an ethyl-enediamine mol-ecule bridges two bis-(ethyl-enediamine)-zinc units; the five-coordinate Zn atoms show a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry that is distorted towards square-pyramidal (that of one Zn atom is distorted by 12% and that of the other by 34%). The perchlorate ions are all disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio. The cation inter-acts weakly with the anion by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.

The calculated τ parameter of 0.42 indicates that the coordination geometry is approximately square-pyramidal. Hydrogen bonds involving centrosymmetric N-H⋯Cl inter-actions form dimeric structures. In the crystal, the tetra-phenol mol-ecule is arranged around an inversion center. The mol-ecule and the dimethyl-formamide solvate are linked through an O-H?O hydrogen bond. An intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond occurs in the tetra-phenol mol-ecule, which may influence the mol-ecular confomation. Futhermore, C-H?O and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7081?(14)?Å] stabilize the crystal packing, building a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title salt, [Cu(NO(3))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(4)]NO(3), one nitrate anion is coordinated to the Cu(II) atom, which is also coordinated by the N atoms of four N-heterocycles. The geometry at the metal atom is a square pyramid in which the O atom of the anion occupies the apical position [Cu-O = 2.468?(5) and 2.590?(7)?Å in the two independent formula units]. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the coordinated nitrate anion is also disordered about this symmetry element. The lattice anion is also disordered about a twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the coordinated and free anions by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.
