ABSTRACT: In the title centrosymmetric dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(11)BrN(2)O(3)S)(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)], the Cu(II) ion is N,O-chelated by a dianionic ligand, monocoordinated by the sulfonamide N atom of a symmetry-related ligand and coordinated by an O atom from a dimethyl sulfoxide ligand, forming a distorted square-planar coordination geometry.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu2(C11H13N3O3S)2(C2H6OS)2], the Cu(II) cation is N,N',O-chelated by a deprotonated hy-droxy-imino-tosyl-hydrazone ligand and coordinated by a dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule. One O atom from the adjacent hy-droxy-imino-tosyl-hydrazone ligand bridges the Cu(II) cation, forming the centrosymmetric dimeric complex. The cation is in an overall distorted N2O3 square-pyramidal coordination environment. The methyl-benzene ring is twisted with respect to the hydrazine fragment, with a dihedral angle of 89.54 (9)° between the planes. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S inter-actions. Weak π-π stacking is also observed between parallel benzene rings of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance being 3.9592 (17) Å.

Project description:The dinuclear title compound, [Zn(2)(C(19)H(17)N(3)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4C(2)H(6)OS, lies about a center of inversion. The deprotonated monoanion O,N,O-chelates the Zn atom; the hydr-oxy O atom also engages in bonding to the symmetry-related Zn atom so that one N and three O atoms form a square around the metal. The coordination geometry is square-pyramidal, with the apical site occupied by a water mol-ecule. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecule serving as donor atom, lead to the formation of a linear chain motif. There is an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the complex molecule and solvent O atom.

Project description:The title dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvate, C(17)H(18)N(4)O(3)·C(2)H(6)OS, shows the disubstituted urea derivative to adopt an almost planar geometry (r.m.s. deviation for non-H atoms = 0.132?Å); the mol-ecule has non-crystallographic twofold mol-ecular symmetry. This conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds. The components of the crystal are connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, whereby both amine H atoms are connected to a DMSO O atom, and C-H?O contacts involving the DMSO H and urea carbonyl atoms, forming a supra-molecular chain along the c axis. The chains associate via C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C(26)H(18)N(4)O(6)S·C(2)H(6)OS, shows an E conformation of the hydrazone double bond. The presence of a methyl-ene group between the benzo[de]isoquinoline and benzene-sulfonyl moieties allows the 4-nitro-phenyl ring and the benzo[de]isoquinoline system to be parallel with respect to each other, so that the mol-ecule adopts a U-shaped spatial conformation. The dihedral angle between mean planes of these aromatic groups is 4.4 (1)°. This special arrangement enables neighboring mol-ecules to be inter-calated, forming slipped π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.535 (2) Å] between the 4-nitro-phenyl and benzo[de]isoquinoline groups and point-to-face C-H⋯π inter-actions between the benzo[de]isoquinoline and benzene-sulfonyl aromatic systems. In addition, the crystal packing also features an inter-molecular N-H⋯O inter-action involving the amine group and the dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecule.
