Diammonium bis-[(2-amino-acetato-?N,O)(2,2'-bipyridine-?N,N')(N,N-dimethyl-formamide-?O)copper(II)] hexa-cosa-oxidoocta-molybdate(VI).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, (NH(4))(2)[Cu(C(2)H(4)NO(2))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(C(3)H(7)NO)](2)[Mo(8)O(26)], contains a centrosymmetric ?-type octa-molybdate anion, two copper(II) complex cations and two ammonium ions. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry by a 2,2'-bipyridine and a 2-amino-acetate ligands in the basal plane and by an O atom of N,N-dimethyl-formamide in the apical position. The anions and cations are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed between the water mol-ecule and the platinum complex, which link the mol-ecules into chains along the c axis.

Project description:In the title salt, [Eu(C3H7NO)8][PMo12O40], the asymmetric unit comprises one α-Keggin-type [PMo12O40](3-) polyoxidometalate anion and one distorted dodeca-hedral [Eu(C3H7NO)8](3+) complex cation. In the crystal, the isolated polyoxidometalate anions are packed into hexa-gonally arranged rows extending parallel to [001]. The complex cations are situated between the rows and are linked to the neighbouring anions through weak C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(16)H(31)O(2))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2CH(3)OH, contains one half-mol-ecule of the metal complex solvated by a methanol mol-ecule. In the complex, two of the metal atoms are doubly bridged by two monodentate bridging hexa-deca-noate ligands around a center of inversion. The square-pyramidal geometry around each Cu(II) ion is completed by a terminal hexa-deca-noate O atom and two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. The alkyl chains of the carboxyl-ate ligands are arranged in a parallel manner with an all-trans conformation. In the crystal, a π-π inter-action formed by the bipyridine rings [centroid-centroid separation = 3.7723 (17) Å] and inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the b axis. An O-H⋯O interaction between the methanol solvate and one of the carboxylate O atoms is also observed.

The central Cd(II) ion is in a slightly disorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by two aqua ligands, two (4-tolyl-sulfan-yl)acetate ligands and two bridging 4,4'-bipyridine ligands. The Cd(II) ion lies on a twofold rotation axis. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect adjacent chains, forming a layer structure. An intramolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond is also present.

The PAA ligands are coordinated to the Sm(III) ion in bridging and bridging tridentate modes. The asymmetric unit also contains one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The occurrence of numerous O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving coordinated and non-coordinated water mol-ecules builds up an intricate three-dimensional network.

Redetermination of hexa-sodium hepta-molybdate(VI) 14-hydrate.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, Na(6)(Mo(7)O(24))·14H(2)O, has been redetermined [Sjöbom & Hedman (1973). Acta Chem. Scand.27, 3673-3674] and the hydrogen atoms have been located. The Na(+) cations adopt distorted octa-hedral geometries and the structure of the [Mo(7)O(24)](6-) anion is consistent with those of other hepta-molbydates. In the crystal, numerous O-H?O hydrogen bonds help to establish the packing.
