Bis{?-5-(diethyl-amino)-2-[(2-oxidoeth-oxy)imino-meth-yl]phenolato}dicopper(II) acetone solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Cu(2)(C(13)H(18)N(2)O(3))(2)]·C(3)H(6)O, has been synthesized by the reaction of copper(II) acetate monohydrate with 5,5'-bis-(diethyl-amino)-2,2'-[ethyl-enedioxy-bis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenol, where one of the N-O bonds of the ligand was cleaved during the reaction. The complex mol-ecule has a ?-dialkoxo-bridged binuclear structure with both Cu(II) centers exhibiting a square-planar coordination geometry.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C12H15NO5)2]·0.39H2O, is a 0.39 hydrate of the isostructural complex bis-(2-{[1,1-bis-(hy-droxy-meth-yl)-2-oxidoeth-yl]imino-meth-yl}-6-meth-oxy-phenolato)manganese(IV) that has previously been reported by Back, Oliveira, Canabarro & Iglesias [Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. (2015), 641, 941-947], based on room-temperature data. The current structure that was determined at 100?K reveals a lengthening of the c cell parameter compared with the published one due to the incorporation of the partial occupancy water mol-ecule. The title compound crystallizes in the tetra-gonal chiral space group P41212; the neutral [Mn(IV)(C12H15NO5)2] mol-ecule is situated on a crystallographic C 2 axis. The overall geometry about the central manganese ion is octa-hedral with an N2O4 core; each ligand acts as a meridional ONO donor. The coordination environment of Mn(IV) at 100?K displays a difference in one of the two Mn-O bond lengths, compared with the room-temperature structure. In the crystal, the neutral mol-ecules are stacked in a helical fashion along the c-axis direction.

The compound was derived from the zwitterionic form of the Schiff base 4-bromo-2-[3-(diethyl-amino)propyl-imino-meth-yl]phenol. The Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by the imine N and phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two iodide ions in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination. In the crystal structure, the methanol mol-ecules are linked to the Schiff base mol-ecules through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds. One I atom is disordered over two positions in a 0.702?(19):0.298?(19) ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [CoCd(C9H10NO2)3Cl2]·H2O, is a solvatomorph of the corresponding hemihydrate recently published by us [Nesterova et al. (2018 ▸). Appl. Cat. A, 560, 171-184]. The current structure reveals different cell parameters and space group compared with the published one while both are monoclinic with almost the same cell volume. The title compound is formed of discrete neutral dinuclear mol-ecules with no crystallographically imposed symmetry and water mol-ecules of crystallization. The overall geometry about the cobalt(III) ion is octa-hedral with an N3O3 environment; each ligand acts as a meridional ONO donor. The CdII coordination sphere approximates an irregular square pyramid with a chlorine atom at the apex. There is significant shortening of a Cd-O bond length to the oxygen atom of the methoxo group on one of the ligands [2.459 (3) Å] compared to the corresponding distance in the published structure [2.724 (7) Å], while other Cd-Cl/N/O bonds remain roughly the same. In the crystal lattice, the heterometallic mol-ecules, which are related by the crystallographic n-glide plane and inter-linked by weak hydrogen bonds to solvent water mol-ecules, form columns along [101]. Adjacent columns lie anti-parallel to each other.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ni2(C9H10NO2)4], is built up by discrete centrosymmetric dimers. Two nitro-gen and three oxygen atoms of two Schiff base ligands singly deprotonated at the phenolate site form a square-pyramidal environment for each metal atom. The ligands are bonded differently to the metal centre: one of the phenolic O atoms is bound to one nickel atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms to form the dimer. The Ni-N/O distances fall in the range 1.8965?(13)-1.9926?(15)?Å, with the Ni-N bonds being slightly longer; the fifth contact of the metal to the bridging phenolate oxygen atom is substanti-ally elongated [2.533?(1)?Å]. A similar coordination geometry was observed in the isomorphous Cu analogue previously reported by us [Sydoruk et al. (2013 ?). Acta Cryst. E69, m551-m552]. In the crystal, the [Ni2 L 4] mol-ecules form sheets parallel to the ab plane with the polar meth-oxy groups protruding into the inter-sheet space and keeping the sheets apart. Within a sheet, the mol-ecules are stacked relative to each other in such a way that the Ni2O2 planes of neighbouring mol-ecules are orthogonal.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(14)H(13)N(2)O(2))(2)], the Cu(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The complex thus adopts a square-planar trans-[CuN(2)O(2)] coordination geometry, with the Cu(II) ion coordinated by two 2-meth-oxy-6-(3-pyridylmethyl-imino-meth-yl)phenolate (Schiff base) ligands. The aryl and pyridyl rings in the Schiff base are almost perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 87.61?(6)° between the planes of the two six-membered rings. The pyridyl ring was refined using a disorder model with approximately 70% occupancy for the major component.
