ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Tm(4)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(6)(H(2)O)(2)](n), has been synthesized hydro-thermally. The asymmetric unit has four unique Tm(III) ions that are six-, seven-, eight- and nine-coordinate. The cations are inter-connected by bridging benzene-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate (BDC) anions to form an infinite two-dimensional framework, in which the BDC ligands adopt three different coordination modes. Adjacent sheets are further packed to form a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework through O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains along [100]. These chains are further linked by weak ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range of 3.609?(2)-3.758?(1)?Å, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title polymer, [Cd(C(8)H(10)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Cd(II) cation is coordinated by five carboxyl-ate O atoms from three different cyclo-hexane-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two O atoms from two water mol-ecules, displaying a distorted CdO(7) pentagonal-bipyramidal geometry. Each anion acts as a ?(3)-bridge, linking symmetry-related Cd(II) ions into a layer parallel to (010). In the crystal, numerous O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. The coordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms act as donors or acceptors in the formation of these hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, [Y(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(3)(C(3)H(7)NO)(4)](n), contains one Y(3+) ion, three half-mol-ecules of the 2-amino-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (abz) dianion and two O-bonded N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules. Each abz half-mol-ecule is completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry and its -NH(2) group is disordered in each case [relative occupancies within the asymmetric unit = 0.462?(18):0.538?(18), 0.93?(2):0.07?(2) and 0.828?(16):0.172?(16)]. The combination of disorder and crystal symmetry means that each of the four C-H atoms of the benzene ring of each of the dianions bears a statistical fraction of an -NH(2) group. The coordination geometry of the yttrium ion is a fairly regular YO(8) square anti-prism arising from its coordination by two DMF mol-ecules, four monodentate abz dianions and one O,O-bidentate abz dianion. The polymeric building unit is a dimeric paddle-wheel with two metal ions linked by four bridging abz dianions. Further bridging linkages connect the dimers into a three-dimensional framework containing voids in which highly disordered DMF mol-ecules are presumed to reside.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound [Li(4)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)(C(2)H(5)OH)(H(2)O)](n), there are four crystallographically independent metal centers each of which is coordinated by four O atoms. The benzene-1,2-dicarboxyl-ate groups act as bidentate-bridging ligands producing a two-dimensional coordination network parallel to the ab plane. The coordination polymer is further stabilized by coordination of water and ethanol mol-ecules by the Li(+) ions. Simultaneously, the water and ethanol mol-ecules are involved in O-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions.

The other La(III) atom is nine-coordinated in a tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, formed by eight carboxyl-ate-O atoms from six BDC anions and a coordinated water mol-ecule. The BDC anions bridge the La(III) atoms, forming a two-dimensional polymeric complex parallel to (001). The crystal structure contains weak O-H?O and non-classical C-H?O hydrogen bonds. A C-H?? inter-action is also present in the crystal structure. The uncoordinated water molecule shows half-occupation.

One Fe(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two O atoms from the water mol-ecules, while the other is in a distorted octa-hedral O(6) environment with two O atoms from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and four O atoms from the water mol-ecules. Both Fe(II) atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are inter-connected by the uncoordinated water mol-ecules through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Single crystals of the title zinc porphyrinato complex, [Zn(C44H8F20N4)]·2C6H6, were obtained by the solvent evaporation method. The molecular complex exhibits point group symmetry with the central ZnII atom located on an inversion centre. The porphyrinato core is approximately planar, and the cation has no other ligating atoms than the four porphyrinato N atoms. π-π inter-actions between benzene solvent mol-ecules and [Zn(TFPP)] units lead to multilayer packing structures. In addition, inter-molecular C-H⋯F hydrogen bonding is observed between [Zn(TFPP)] mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title complex, {[CaZn(C(10)H(2)O(8))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by four O atoms from four benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate anions in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The Ca(II) ion is eight-coordinated by six O atoms from four benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate anions and by two water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry. The Ca(II) and Zn(II) ions and the lattice water mol-ecule are located on twofold rotation axes; the centroid of the benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate anion is located on a centre of inversion. The μ(8)-bridging mode of the anion results in the formation of a three-dimensional structure with channels extending along [100] in which lattice water mol-ecules are situated. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinating and lattice water mol-ecules as donors and the carboxyl-ate O atoms and lattice water mol-ecules as acceptors are present in the structure.
