ABSTRACT: In the title compound, (C(5)H(7)N(2))[NiCl(3)(C(5)H(6)N(2))], the Ni(II) atom is four-coordinated by three chloride anions and one N atom of a 2-amino-pyridine ligand, forming a distorted tetra-hedral coordination. In the crystal structure, cations and complex anions are linked into chains along the a, b and c axes by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)], contains half of a [Cu(pydc)(2)](2-) (pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid) anion and one protonated 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridine (2a4mpH)(+) counter-ion. The anion is a six-coordinated complex with a distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry around the Cu(II) ion. N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds along with ?-? contacts between the pyridine rings of the (2a4mpH)(+) cations [centroid-centroid distance = 3.573?(2)?Å] stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The reaction of a cobalt(II) salt with 4-(dimethyl-amino)pyridinium hydro-bromide perbromide yielded the title compound, (C(7)H(11)N(2))[CoBr(3)(C(7)H(9.1)Br(0.9)N(2))]. In the anion, the Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by three Br atoms and the pyridine N atom of a bromine-substituted 4-(dimethyl-amino)pyridine mol-ecule, whose formation probably results from an incomplete substitution (90%) catalysed by the Co(II) ion. One of the three bromine atoms bonded to the metal is disordered over two sites in a 0.9:0.1 ratio. An N-H?Br hydrogen bond connects the cation and anion.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C7H11N2)2[Mn(NCS)4(C7H10N2)2], the manganese(II) cations are coordinated by four N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and two N-bonded 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands into discrete complex dianions. For charge balance, two 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine counter cations are present, which do not coordinate to the metal cation. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese(II) cation, four thio-cyanate anions and two 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridine ligands, as well as two protonated 4-(dimethyl-amino)-pyridinium cations. The discrete complex anions are connected to the non-coordinating pyridinium cations by weak N-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title complex, (C(5)H(7)N(2))[PbI(3)], consists of a 1-amino-pyridinium cation, disordered about a mirror plane, and a [PbI(3)](-) anion. The Pb(2+) ion (site symmetry ) is surrounded by six I atoms in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination. The PbI(6) octa-hedra share faces, building up (?) (1)[PbI(6/2)] chains running along [010]. The cations are situated between the chains. Coulombic attractions and van der Waals inter-actions between the inorganic and organic components are mainly responsible for the cohesion of the structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·N(3) (-)·C(5)H(6)N(2), all N atoms of the azide anion are situated on a twofold rotational axis, so the 4-amino-pyridinium cation and 4-amino-pyridine mol-ecule, being related by symmetry, occupy one position in the asymmetric unit. Project description:In the title complex, (C(5)H(6)ClN(2))(C(7)H(8)NO)[CoCl(4)], the Co(II) ions are tetra-hedrally coordinated. The crystal structure is built from hydrogen-bonded centrosymmetric tetra-mers of tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) dianions and 3-amino-2-chloro-pyridinium cations, additionally strengthened by significant ?-? stacking of pyridinium rings [interplanar distance 3.389?(3)?Å]. The tetra-mers are linked by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into chains; the second kind of cations, viz. 2-acetyl-pyridinium, are connected by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds to both sides of the chain. The Co-Cl bond lengths in the dianion correlate with the number of hydrogen bonds accepted by the Cl atom. An intramolecular C-H?Cl interaction is also present.

Project description:In the 3-hy-droxy-picolinate anion of the title salt, C6H9N2 (+)·C6H4NO3 (-), an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond with an S(6) graph-set motif is formed, so that the anion is essentially planar, with a dihedral angle of 9.55?(9)° between the pyridine ring and the carboxyl-ate group. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked via N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a centrosymmetric 2 + 2 aggregate with R 2 (2)(8) and R 4 (2)(8) ring motifs. The crystal structure also features N-H?N and weak C-H?? inter-actions.
