ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(12)H(16)N(6)O(2)·2H(2)O, the organic mol-ecule, except for the methyl H atoms, is essentially planar, the r.m.s. deviation from planarity being 0.044?Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds which form chains.

The 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide mol-ecule is located on an inversion center. π-π inter-actions between neighboring 2,5-dimethyl-pyrazine 1,4-dioxide mol-ecules are observed with an inter-planar distance of 3.191 Å. Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(6)O(6)·2H(2)O, was obtained by accident within a project on the synthesis of metal-organic coordination polymers by the reaction of LiOH with 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid under solvothermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of half a 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid mol-ecule located on a centre of inversion and one solvent water mol-ecule that occupies a general position. The 2,5-dihy-droxy-terephthalic acid mol-ecules are connected to the water mol-ecules via O-H?O hydrogen bonding to form a layer in the ab plane.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n) the pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate dianionic ligand bridges two symmetry-independent Li(+) ions using both its N,O-chelating sites. The carboxyl-ate O atom of one of them also bridges to another Li(+) ion, while the second O atom of this group is bonded to another Li(+) ion. Two symmetry-independent water O atoms participate also in the bridging system, which gives rise to a polymeric three-dimensional framework. Both Li(+) ions show distorted trigonal-bipyramidal LiNO(4) coordination geometries, with the N atom in an axial site in both cases. The packing is consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which occur between water mol-ecules as donors and carboxyl-ate O atoms as acceptors.

Project description:In the polymeric complex of the title compound, {[AgNi(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]NO(3)·2H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) ion displays an angular coordination geometry with two N atoms from pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands, and the Ni(II) ion is hexa-coordinated by two O atoms from two water mol-ecules, two O and two N atoms from pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the Ag(I) and Ni(II) ions lie on a mirror plane and an inversion centre, respectively. The complex chains, the nitrate ions and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules are linked together through O-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak Ag?O inter-actions [2.619?(17)-2.749?(17)?Å] into a three-dimensional network.
