ABSTRACT: The 4,4'-bipyridine spacer in the title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)NO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, links the diaqua-cobalt(II) dicarboxyl-ate units into a linear chain; the metal atom lies on a center of inversion in an octa-hedral environment. The coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules inter-act through O-H?O hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional network.

The central Cd(II) ion is in a slightly disorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by two aqua ligands, two (4-tolyl-sulfan-yl)acetate ligands and two bridging 4,4'-bipyridine ligands. A twofold inter-penetrated primitive cubic supra-molecular network is formed by the inter-action of pseudo-layers by hydrogen bonding between aqua ligands and unligated 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(9)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two succinate anions, two isoquinoline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The succinate anion, located across another inversion center, bridges the Co cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b axis. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel isoquinoline ring systems of adjacent polymeric chains and the shorter face-to-face distance of 3.402 (6) Å indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking in the crystal structure. Classical intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, 2[Ag(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](C(7)H(6)NO(2))(NO(3))·H(2)O, the Ag(I) atom is three-coordinated in a T-shaped configuration by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands at short distances and by one water O atom at a longer distance. Each bipy ligand bridges two neighbouring Ag(I) atoms, forming a chain structure extending parallel to [101]. The complete 4-amino-benzoate anion, the nitrate anion and the uncoordinated water mol-ecule are located on mirror planes: together with the coordinated water mol-ecule, they form N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, stabilizing the crystal structure.

The coordinated water mol-ecules form hydrogen bonds to the carboxyl-ate O atoms of 2,2'-dpa within the same coordination polymer, and one O-H⋯π inter-action is also formed to 2,2'-dpa.
