Poly[[diaqua-bis(μ(3)-maleato-κO:O,O:O)dicopper(II)] trihydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Cu(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O}(n), Cu(II) ions with square-pyramidal coordination are bridged by exo-tri-dentate maleate dianions into [Cu(2)(maleate)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n) layers coincident with the bc crystal plane. The inter-lamellar regions contain hydrogen-bonded cyclic water hexa-mers which facilitate layer stacking into a pseudo-three-dimensional crystal structure. The water hexamers themselves are formed by the operation of crystallographic inversion centers on sets of three crystallographically distinct water molecules of hydration.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(4)O(6)PS)(OH)(H(2)O)(2)]·3H(2)O, consists of two Cu(2+) ions, one (O(3)PC(2)H(4)SO(3))(3-) ion and one OH(-) ion, as well as five water mol-ecules, two of which are coordinated to Cu(2+). The Cu(2+) ions are coordinated by six O atoms. The CuO(6) polyhedra are connected by μ- and μ(3)-O atoms into zigzag chains along the b axis. These chains are further connected by -CH(2)CH(2)- groups to form layers, in turn building a three-dimensional framework via hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Mn(C(7)H(4)FO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mn(II) atom is located on an inversion centre. It is coordinated by two water mol-ecules in the apical directions and four 4-fluoro-benzoate (PFB) anions, bridging the symmetry related Mn atoms in the basal plane to form an infinite two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (100). The four O atoms of the PFB anions around the Mn(II) atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two O atoms of the water mol-ecules. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the adjacent benzene ring is 27.29 (16)°. The O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further connect the manganese-carboxyl-ate units. π-π contacts between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6894 (15) Å] further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mg(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mg(II) ion lies on a twofold roatation axis and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. Pairs of bridging ammonium-isophthalate ligands connect symmetry-related Mg(II) ions, forming chains along [010]. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional network. The centroids of pairs of symmetry-related benzene rings within a chain are separated by 3.5707 (12) Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(9)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two succinate anions, two isoquinoline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The succinate anion, located across another inversion center, bridges the Co cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b axis. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel isoquinoline ring systems of adjacent polymeric chains and the shorter face-to-face distance of 3.402 (6) Å indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking in the crystal structure. Classical intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The hydro-thermal reaction of CoCO(3) and 4-fluoro-benzoic acid afforded the title Co(II) complex, [Co(C(7)H(4)FO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n). The Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by six O atoms from two water mol-ecules and four μ(2)-carboxyl-ate groups of 4-fluoro-benzoate anions, forming a distorted CoO(6) octa-hedron, with Co-O bond lengths in the range 2.071 (2)-2.130 (2) Å. All adjacent O-Co-O angles are in the range 84.78 (6)-95.22 (6)° and opposite angles are 180.0°. Each μ-carboxyl-ate group of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions bridges two symmetry-related Co(II) atoms. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of the coordinated water mol-ecules further connect the cobalt-carboxyl-ate units, forming layers perpendicular to the a axis. The cobalt-oxygen layers are encased in a sandwich-like fashion by layers of π-stacked 4-fluoro-benzoate anions. Within these layers the benzene rings of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions are π-stacked, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.432 (4) Å.

Project description:The title compound {[Cu(2)Ho(2)(C(4)H(5)O(2))(10)(H(2)O)(4)]·3H(2)O}(n), is a one-dimensional 3d/4f organic-inorganic hybrid complex, the Ho(III) member of the isotypic lanthanoid series with Ln = Gd(III), Er(III) and Y(III). The structure shows an alternation of Cu(2) and Ho(2) dinuclear units bridged by the ligands and hydrogen bonds only. The chains are composed of Cu(2) classical dinuclear η(1):η(1):μ(2) fourfold bridges [Cu⋯Cu = 2.6417 (9) Å] and of Ho(2) units bridged by two η(2):η(1):μ(2) carboxyl-ate units. This results in distorted square-based pyramidal CuO(5) units and irregular HoO(9) units. The alternating Cu(2) and Ho(2) units are bridged into linear arrays along the a axis by a set of one η(2):η(1):μ(2) carboxyl-ate O atom and two hydrogen bonds with Cu⋯Ho separations of 4.4883 (10) and 4.5086 (10) Å. The distance between adjacent chains, as calculated by the closest and furthest distances between two chains, covers the range 10-14 Å. The H atoms of the water mol-ecules could not be located, but the O⋯O separations for these species suggest the presence of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, {[Mn(C(11)H(14)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), the two independent Mn(II) atoms are located on a centre of symmetry and coordinated by two 4-(diethyl-amino)benzoate (DEAB) anions and two water mol-ecules in the basal plane while another water mol-ecule bridges the Mn atoms in the apical directions, forming polymeric chains. The dihedral angles between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 11.33 (13) and 10.90 (9)° and the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 67.88 (6)°. The uncoordinated water mol-ecules link the carboxyl-ate groups and coordinated water mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. Weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also found in the crystal structure.

The ps(-) anions, acting as μ(2)-bridging ligands, link neighbouring Ni(II) ions into a chain structure along the c axis. These polymeric chains are extended into a three-dimensional framework via inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with participation of the water mol-ecules.

Project description:The environment of the Co(II) ion in the title compound, [Co(SO(4))(C(6)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), exhibits an octa-hedral configuration with the two 3-methyl-pyridine ligands lying in cis positions with respect to each other and trans to the two coordinated water mol-ecules. The axial positions are occupied by O atoms of the sulfate ions. Co and S atoms occupy special positions (twofold axis, Wyckoff position 4c). Neighboring Co(II) ions are covalently connected with each other through the sulfate ions, thus creating infinite polymeric chains that run along the c axis. The water mol-ecules are connected with neighboring sulfate ions through strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds parallel to the propagation direction of the chains stabilize the polymeric chains, and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between chains connect neighboring chains with each other, thus leading to polymeric double chains.
