Triaqua-chlorido(1,10-phenanthroline-?N,N')cobalt(II) chloride monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [CoCl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(3)]Cl·H(2)O, the Co(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Co-N = 2.125?(6) and 2.146?(6)?Å], one chloride ligand [Co-Cl = 2.459?(2)Å] and three water mol-ecules [Co-O = 2.070?(5)-2.105?(5)Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Inter-molecular O-H?Cl and O-H?O hydrogen bonds form an extensive three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network, which consolidates the crystal packing.

In the title compound, [CoCl(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(3)]Cl·H(2)O, the Co(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Co-N = 2.125 (6) and 2.146 (6) Å], one chloride ligand [Co-Cl = 2.459 (2)Å] and three water mol-ecules [Co-O = 2.070 (5)-2.105 (5)Å] in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(2)Cl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], each of the two five-coordinated Zn(II) atoms displays a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by two N atoms from the chelate ligand and by one terminal and two bridging chloride anions. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. There is inter-molecular π-π stacking between adjacent phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.151 (3) Å.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(NCS)(2)(C(16)H(16)N(2)O(2))], the Co(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from one 2,9-dieth-oxy-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two N atoms from two different thio-cyanate ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. The Co-N bonds involving the thio-cyanate ligands are significantly shorter than the other two Co-N bonds.
