Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(56)N(4)P(2), the distance between the P atoms [2.2988 (8) and 2.3013 (13) Å in the major and minor occupancy components, respectively] is one of the longest reported for uncoordinated diphosphanes. The whole mol-ecule is disordered over two positions with site-occupation factors of 0.6447 (8) and 0.3553 (8). The structure adopts the synperiplanar conformation in the solid state [N-P-P-N torsion angle = 14.7 (5)°].

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C4H12P2S2)2]BF4, both diphosphine di-sulfide mol-ecules bind to the Cu(I) atom, as chelating ligands via the S atoms, forming a monovalent cation with a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination around the Cu(I) atom. The average Cu-S distance is 2.350 (15) Å, with small but possibly significant differences within each chelate ring. Ligand P=S distances average 1.964 (3) Å, and the P-P distances are 2.2262 (13) and 2.2166 (14) Å. The ligand chelate rings are twisted in opposite directions, with one in the λ and one in the δ configuration. Although the anisotropic displacement parameters of the F atoms of the anion are quite large compared to that of the B atom, difference Fourier syntheses indicate only one set of sites for the F atoms. In the crystal, possible C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds may stabilize the orientation. The B-F distances, uncorrected for libration, average 1.359 (6) Å.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(68)H(44)N(4))]·C(2)H(2)Cl(4), exhibits nearly square-planar geometry around the Cu(II) centre and the macrocyclic ring is almost planar. The porphyrin mol-ecule has an approximate non-crystallographic inversion centre (C(i)), and a non-crystallographic twofold rotation axis (C(2)) within the Cu(II)-porphyrin ring plane. Further, it has non-crystallographic twofold rotation axis and mirror plane (C(s)) symmetry perpendicular to the mol-ecular plane. The mol-ecular packing of the complexes and the solvent molecules shows weak inter-molecular C-H⋯π, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯N inter-actions, forming a clathrate-like structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(36)H(30)NP(3), a structural isomer of tris-(diphenyl-phosphino)amine, was unexpectedly isolated as the sole phospho-rus-containing product from the reaction of Mg[N(PPh(2))(2)](2)(THF)(2) (THF is tetra-hydro-furan) with CO(2). Its identity was confirmed by (31)P NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometry at the two P(III) atoms is trigonal pyramidal, while the P(V) atom adopts a distorted tetrahedral geometry.

Project description:In the title complex, C(60)·4C(2)Cl(4), the C(60) mol-ecule is located on an inversion centre and there are two tetra-chloro-ethyl-ene (TCE) mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Both TCE mol-ecules show positional disorder, with occupancy ratios of 0.75:0.25 and 0.56:0.44. Four fullerene C atoms form short contacts [3.208 (17) and 3.223 (17) Å] with the centres of the TCE double bonds, indicating that C(60)-solvent inter-actions are largely π-π in nature.

Project description:Crystals of the title salt, [Na(C6H14O3)2]2(C26H20), were grown from a tetra-hydro-furan/diglyme/Et2O solvent mixture [diglyme is 1-meth-oxy-2-(2-meth-oxy-eth-oxy)ethane]. The cations and dianion are separated in the crystal structure, unlike in the other three structurally characterized dialkali metal tetra-phenyl-ethyl-ene salts. The asymmetric unit contains one [Na(diglyme)2](+) cation and one half of the [Ph2CCPh2](2-) dianion. The latter lies on a twofold rotation axis. C-C bond-length redistribution displays that excessive electron density of the dianion is predominantly located at the C atoms of a former double bond and at all eight ortho positions. The studied crystal was a twin, with the ratio of two major components being 0.2143?(9):0.7857?(9). The twin operation is a twofold rotation around the a axis.

Project description:The complete molecule of title compound, C(58)H(58)P(4), is generated by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis that passes through the center of the C(methine)-C(methine) bond of length 1.582?(4)?Å. The C-P bond lengths are 1.8824?(19) and 1.8991?(19)?Å. The P-C-P angle of 109.69?(9)° is essentially equal to the expected value of 109.5° for a tetra-hedral C atom. Although the C(methine)-P-C(aromatic) bond angles range from 102.67?(9) to 107.04?(9)°, the C(aromatic)-P-C(aromatic) bond angles of 96.72?(9) and 97.29?(9)° are significantly smaller. The steric demands of the o-tolyl groups cause deviations from the bond lengths and angles reported for its phenyl analog.
