ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(15)H(11)NO, consists of a planar isoquinolinone group to which a phenyl ring is attached in a twisted fashion [dihedral angle = 39.44?(4)°]. The crystal packing is dominated by inter-molecular N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds which define centrosymmetric dimeric entitities.

Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(15)N(3)O, is the product of the thermal decomposition of the diazo-nium salt derived from 2-amino-N-methyl-N-(3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)benzamide. It is characterized by a trans orientation of the methyl groups with respect to the tricyclic ring system. The mol-ecule has a nearly planar phenyl-pyrazolo[3,4-c]isoquinolin-5-one system, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.066 (2) Å for the O atom. The dihedral angle between the phenyl substituent and the heterotricycle is 67 (1)°. The packing is stabilized by C-H⋯N hydrogen-bond inter-actions, with the formation of mol-ecular chains along the c axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(10)H(10)N(2)O, contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules with similar geometries, which exist in the keto form. The C=O bond lengths are 1.2878?(12)?Å in mol-ecule A and 1.2890?(12)?Å in mol-ecule B, indicating that the compound undergoes enol-to-keto tautomerism during the crystallization process. In mol-ecule A, the pyrazole ring is approximately planar [maximum deviation = 0.007?(1)?Å] and forms a dihedral angle of 36.67?(6)° with the attached phenyl ring. In mol-ecule B, the dihedral angle formed between the pyrazole ring [maximum deviation = 0.017?(1)?Å] and the phenyl ring is 41.19?(6)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link neighbouring mol-ecules into dimers generating R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs. These dimers are linked into ribbons along [101] via inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming R(4) (2)(10) ring motifs.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(11)H(12)N(2)O, consists of two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B) with similar geometries. Both mol-ecules exist in a keto form, the C=O bond length being 1.286 (2) Å in A and 1.283 (2) Å in B. The dihedral angles between the pyrazole ring and the attached phenyl ring are 43.28 (12) and 46.88 (11)°, respectively, for A and B. The ethyl unit in mol-ecule B is disordered over two positions with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.508 (5):0.492 (5). In the crystal, each of the independent mol-ecules forms a centrosymmetric dimer with an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif through a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These dimers are further connected into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present.

The crystal structure is stabilized by an inter-molecular hydrogen bond between the N-H group and the carbonyl O atom of the pyrazol-3(2H)-one ring which links the mol-ecules into supra-molecular C(5) chains along [001] and by weak ?-? stacking inter-actions between the phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.881?(2)?Å]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions involving the methyl group and the phenyl ring of a symmetry-related mol-ecule.
