ABSTRACT: The title compound, CH(7)N(4) (+)·C(4)H(5)O(4) (-), is a molecular salt containing discrete amino-guanidinium and succinate ions. The amino-guanidinium cation is nearly planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.035?(1)?Å. The dihedral angle between the amino-guanidinium cation and the succinate anion is 3.35?(6)°. The crystal packing exhibits inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?·O hydrogen bonds.

The hydrogen succinate anions are linked via O-H?O hydrogen bonds. A weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:In the title salt, C(5)H(6)ClN(2) (+)·C(4)H(5)O(4) (-), the pyridine N atom is protonated. The pyridinium and amino groups associate via a pair of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the carboxyl-ate O atoms of the singly deprotonated succinate anion. The hydrogen succinate anions self-assemble via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along the b axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by additional N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the second amino H atoms, as well as C-H⋯O contacts, forming a three-dimensional network.

5-Amino-1H-pyrazol-2-ium hydrogen succinate.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, C3H6N3 (+)·C4H5O4 (-), the protonated pyrazolium ring is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.012 Å). An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs in the anion. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and a weak C-H⋯O inter-action between the cations and anions form two sets of R 2 (2)(8) graph-set ring motifs. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between these lead to a criss-cross pattern along the b axis. In addition to the classical hydrogen bonds, a weak C-H⋯π(pyrazolium) inter-action is observed and contributes to crystal packing. All of these inter-actions link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular framework parallel to (10-1).

Guanidinium 4-amino-benzoate.

Project description:In the title compound, CH(6)N(3) (+)·C(7)H(6)NO(2) (-), the cation and anion lie on crystallographic mirror planes. The 4-amino-benzoate anion is almost in a planar conformation with a maximum deviation of 0.024?(2)?Å for the N atom. The bond length in the deprotonated carboxyl group is inter-mediate between those of normal single and double Csp(2)=O bonds, indicating delocalization of the charge over both O atoms of the COO(-) group. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds assemble the ions in layers propagating in the bc plane. This structure is very similar to that of guanidinium benzoate.

Project description:In the title hydrated salt, C(8)H(18)N(+)·C(4)H(5)O(4) (-)·H(2)O, the cyclo-octyl- ring of the cation is disordered over two positions in a 0.833?(3):0.167?(3) ratio. The structure contains various O-H.·O and N-H?O inter-actions, forming a hydrogen-bonded layer of mol-ecules perpendicular to the c axis. In each layer, the ammonium cation hydrogen bonds to two hydrogen succinate anions and one water mol-ecule. Each hydrogen succinate anion hydrogen bonds to neighbouring anions, forming a chain of mol-ecules along the b axis. In addition, each hydrogen succinate anion hydrogen bonds to two water mol-ecules and the ammonium cation.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C(8)H(12)N(5) (+)·C(4)H(5)O(4) (-)·CH(3)OH, the hydrogen succinate anions form infinite [010] chains via short, almost symmetrical, O?H?O hydrogen bonds. The 2-phenyl-biguanidium cations inter-connect these chains into layers lying parallel to the bc plane by way of N-H?O links. These planes only weakly inter-act in the direction of the a axis via C-H?? contacts between offset phenyl rings, leaving as much as 17% of the unit-cell volume accessible for the solvent. However, the methanol solvent mol-ecules could not be resolved due to extensive disorder and their assumed presence was removed from the overall scattering by the PLATON SQUEEZE procedure.
