The molecule is essentially planar, withthe nitro group tilted by 1.78?(19)° and the iodine atom displaced by 0.0233?(2)?Å with respect to the thiophene ring. In the crystal structure, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through weak I?O inter-actions [3.039?(2)Å], forming chains extending along the b axis.

Project description:The title compound, C6H4IN3, is essentially planar, with a dihedral angle of 0.82?(3)° between the planes of the pyridine and pyrazole rings. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are connected into inversion dimers through N-H?N hydrogen bonds. C-I?N halogen bonds link the dimers into zigzag chains parallel to the b-axis direction. The packing also features ?-? stacking inter-actions along (110) with inter-planar distances of 3.292?(1) and 3.343?(1)?Å, and centroid-centroid distances of 3.308?(1) and 3.430?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, C6H2Cl2INO2, there are weak C-H?Cl inter-actions and I?O [3.387?(4)?Å] close contacts. These inter-actions form sheets in the ac plane, with the closest contact between adjacent planes occurring between inversion-related nitro O atoms [3.025?(8)?Å]. The molecule possesses mirror symmetry, with the halogen, N and C atoms all lying in the mirror plane. Hence, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the nitro group is 90°.

Project description:In title compound, C(12)H(9)IN(2)O(2)S, the nitro group is rotated slightly, by 8.91 (3)°, out of the plane of the aromatic ring to which it is bonded. Between the two aromatic rings the CSN plane is at a dihedral angle of 84.0 (7)° to the HNC plane. Mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions into a double helical supra-molecular architecture. There are no iodo-nitro, π-π or C-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions.
