Redetermination of bis-(O,O'-diethyl dithio-phosphato-?S,S')nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: The centrosymmetric title complex, [Ni{S(2)P(OC(2)H(5))(2)}(2)], has been redetermined using area-detector data. The central Ni(S(2)P)(2) core is essentially planar and confirms the early results of McConnell & Kastalsky [Acta Cryst. (1967), 22, 853-859] based on multiple film technique data. In the title structure, the standard uncertainty values are approximately seven times lower and all H-atom positions are calculated. A pair of short symmetry-related H?H contacts with distances of 2.33?Å is observed in the crystal structure.

The Ni(II) atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four S atoms of O,O'-diphenethyl dithio-phosphate mol-ecules and two N atoms of 4-methyl-pyridine mol-ecules. Important geometric data include Ni-N = 2.100 (3) Å, and Ni-S = 2.5101 (10) and 2.4772 (11) Å.

Project description:The Ni atom in the title linear supra-molecular polymer, [Ni(C(6)H(14)O(2)PS(2))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(4))](n), exists within a trans-N(2)S(4) octa-hedral donor set defined by two symmetrically coordinating dithio-phosphate ligands and pyridine N atoms derived from two bridging bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)diazane ligands. The Ni atom lies on a centre of inversion and the bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)diazane ligand is also disposed about a centre of inversion. The chains are arranged into layers sustained by C-H?S contacts and inter-digitate with neighbouring layers, forming the crystal structure.

Project description:The title complex, [Co(C(8)H(12)N(2)O(3))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)], whose structure was first determined by Wang & Craven [(1971). J. Chem. Soc. D, pp. 290-291], has been redetermined with improved precision. A crystallographic twofold rotation axis passes through the Co atom, which is tetrahedrally coordinated by two N atoms from two barbital ligands and two N atoms from two imidazole ligands. The mol-ecules are self-assembled via inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions into a supra-molecular network.

The toluene solvent mol-ecules occupy channels defined by the three-dimensional stacking of the polymeric chains. The Ni atom is located at a centre of inversion and the bridging 1,2-bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)hydrazine4-pyridine mol-ecule is also disposed about a centre of inversion. One isobutoxy group is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb(C14H14O2PS2)2] n , the metal atom is surrounded by two O,O'-bis-(2-methyl-phen-yl) dithio-phosphate ligands bonding through the S-donor atoms. Three of the Pb-S bond lengths are are close to each other at 2.7710?(18), 2.8104?(16) and 2.8205?(16)?Å, while the fourth Pb-S bond is elongated at 3.0910?(18)?Å and reflects the fact that this atom is involved in inter-molecular bridging to an adjacent Pb(II) atom [Pb-S = 3.145?(2)?Å]. The bond angles demonstrate that the Pb(II) atom contains a stereochemically active lone pair with a distorted octa-hedral geometry about the Pb(II) atom. This distortion is shown by the S-Pb-S bite angles of 73.63?(4) and 69.50?(4)°, while the remaining S-Pb-S angles range from 81.03?(5) to 143.66?(5)°. One of the benzene rings shows positional disorder over two orientations with occupancy factors of 0.747?(11) and 0.253?(11).

Project description:Reaction of [Ru(Tp)Cl(PPh(3))(2)] {where Tp is hydridotri-pyrazol-yl-borate, BH[C(3)H(3)N(2))(3))]} with NH(4)[S(2)P(OEt)(2)] in methanol afforded the title compound, [Ru(C(9)H(10)BN(6))(C(4)H(10)O(2)PS(2))(C(18)H(15)P)], in which the Ru(II) ion is in a slightly disorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The [S(2)P(OEt)(2)](-) ligand coordinates in a chelating mode with two similar Ru-S bond lengths and a slightly acute S-Ru-S angle. The atoms of both -OCH(2)CH(3) groups of the diethyl dithio-phosphate ligand are disordered over two sites with approximate occupancies of 0.76 and 0.24.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title mononuclear Ni(II) compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(8)H(12)N(2))(2)], contains two independent half-mol-ecules, the Ni atoms of which lie on crystallographic inversion centres. Each Ni(II) ion is chelated by two N atoms from two N-phenyl-ethane-1,2-diamine ligands and is also coordinated by two N atoms from two thio-cyanate ligands, giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by N-H?S inter-actions.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(16)N(2))(2)]Br(2) or [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)]Br(2) (Et(2)en is asymmetric N,N-diethyl-ethylene-diamine), containing an Ni(II) atom (site symmetry ) in square-planar NiN(4) coordination, is described and contrasted with related structures containing Ni(II) in octa-hedral coordination with axial X(-) ligands (X(-) = variable anions). The dialkyl-ated N atom has an appreciably longer bond length to the Ni(II) atom [1.9666?(13)?Å] than does the unsubstituted N atom [1.9202?(14)?Å]. The Ni-N bond lengths in [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)]Br(2) are significantly shorter than corresponding values in tetra-gonally distorted [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)X(2)] compounds (X = (-)O(2)CCF(3), OH(2), or (-)NCS), which have a triplet ground state. The electronic configuration in these axially ligated [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)X(2)] compounds populates the metal-based d(x) (2) (-y) (2) orbital, which is Ni-N anti-bonding in character. Each Et(2)en ligand in each [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)](2+) cation forms a pair of N-H?Br hydrogen bonds to the Br(-) anions, one above and below the NiN(4) square plane. Thus, a ribbon of alternating Br(-) pairs and [Ni(Et(2)en)(2)](2+) cations that are canted at 65° relative to one another is formed by hydrogen bonds.

Redetermination of tetra-kis(N,N-diethyl-dithio-carbamato)tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Sn(C(5)H(10)NS(2))(4)], was originally determined by Harreld & Schlemper [Acta Cryst. (1971), B27, 1964-1969] using intensity data estimated from Weissenberg films. In comparison with the previous refinement, the current redetermination reveals anisotropic displacement parameters for all non-H atoms, localization of the H atoms, and higher precision of lattice parameters and inter-atomic distances. The complex features a distorted S(6) octa-hedral coordination geometry for tin and a cis disposition of the monodentate dithio-carbamate ligands.
