Project description:The conformation of the N-H bond in the title compound (34DMPA), C(10)H(13)NO, is syn to the 3-methyl substituent in the aromatic ring, in contrast to the anti conformation observed with respect to the 3-chloro substituent in N-(3,4-dichloro-phen-yl)acetamide (34DCPA). The asymmetric unit of the structure contains three mol-ecules. The bond parameters in 34DMPA are similar to those in 34DCPA, N-(2,6-dimethyl-phen-yl)acetamide, N-(3,5-dimethyl-phen-yl)acetamide and other acetanilides. The mol-ecules in 34DMPA are linked into infinite chains through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:Two independent mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(18)N(2)O(3)S. Small but significant twists about the (S)N-C and S-C bonds differentiate the mol-ecules but the most obvious difference is found in the relative orientation of the meta-methyl groups, which lie on opposite sides of the mol-ecules. Overall, both mol-ecules adopt a U shape but with significant twisting evident, particularly in the second independent mol-ecule [dihedral angles between benzene rings = 63.90?(13) and 35.78?(11)°]. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to supra-molecular chains with a tubular topology propagating in [100] and C-H?O contacts cross-link the chains.

Project description:In the title compound, C14H10BrF2NO, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the 4-bromo-phenyl and 3,4-di-fluoro-phenyl rings is 66.4 (1)°. These two planes are twisted by 40.0 (5) and 86.3 (2)°, respectively, from that of the acetamide group. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-actions form infinite chains along [100].

Project description:In the title compound, C14H10ClF2NO, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the 4-chloro-phenyl and 3,4-di-fluoro-phenyl rings is 65.2 (1)°. These two planes are twisted by 83.5 (5) and 38.9 (9)°, respectively, from that of the acetamide group. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form infinite chains along [100]. Weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-actions are also observed and stack mol-ecules along the b axis.

On the other hand, it is anti to the C=O bond. An inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond links mol-ecules into infinite chains along the b axis.

Project description:The conformation of the C=O bond in the structure of the title compound, C(10)H(12)ClNO, is anti to the N-H bond and to the methyl-ene H atoms in the side chain in both the independent mol-ecules comprising the asymmetric unit. However, the conformation of the N-H bond is syn to the meta-methyl substituent in the aromatic ring of one of the mol-ecules and anti in the other mol-ecule. The two independent mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding into chains parallel to the b axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C(20)H(15)F(2)NO, the mean plane of the acetamide group makes dihedral angles of 88.26 (6), 78.30 (7) and 9.83 (6)° with the two terminal benzene rings and difluoro-substituted benzene ring, respectively. One F atom is disordered over two orientations rotated by 180°, with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.557 (2):0.443 (2). An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains along the c axis. The crystal structure is further consolidated by C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:When viewed down the central S?N axis of the title compound, C(20)H(26)N(2)O(3)S, it is apparent that the mol-ecule adopts a gauche conformation with all O atoms lying to one side of the central benzene ring; the carbonyl O atom is directed away from the central ring and the N-bound ethyl groups lie to one side of the mol-ecule. Supra-molecular helical chains aligned along the b axis and sustained by C-H?O contacts feature in the crystal packing. These are consolidated in the three-dimensional structure by C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the title amide, C(16)H(15)F(2)NO(3), the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 53.7?(1)°. Mol-ecules are linked in the crystal structure by an inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond involving N-H and C=O functionalities of the amide group. A one-dimensional network is thus formed along the [001] direction. No significant inter-chain contacts are observed.
